Attention drone pilots! Yesterday was the deadline to register your drone with the CAA. Whether you fly commercially or for fun, if your drone weighs more than 250gms, you have to register it or face a £1,000 fine!
You have to take a 20-question online test (the answers are all provided in the literature you have to read first). You must score at least 16. You then have to pay a £9.00 fee and you receive a unique identifying number (or numbers). These must be attached to any drone that you fly.
As a registered commercial drone pilot, I thought that I was exempt from this, but I'm not. Every pilot, commercial or not, must register and attach the numbers to their drones.
