Looking forward to trying to spot these little beauties this year!

You just have to listen for the chicks call, which is very distinctive... if you know what to listen for!

So, apparently winter is digging its heels in and is refusing to leave us alone!

Yesterday was a reel feel for what's ahead of us though. I actually felt the warmth of the sun on my face, rode my bike in shorts and had a beer outside!

Can't wait for the temperatures to increase and all our native flowers, plants and trees bloom!

🥃Jura 14 Year Old American Rye Cask 🥃

This was actually a 40th bday present from a very good mate of mine!

Nose: Zesty wafts of fresh lemon peel and candied orange open things up followed by mint leaves and blossom.

Palate: Floral notes continue, with more fresh herbs. Sweet caramelised nuts, juicy tropical fruits, buttery vanilla, crisp spiced apple with fragrant cinnamon and oak char.

Finish: Still fruity, the woody spice picks up with prickles of warming pepper, balanced by sweet, nutty caramel.

"Why is everyone looking down?"

New technology is amazing and getting better every day. The power and possibility in the palm of your hand is incredible. Sometimes though, you need to look up.

Heres a few images from a recent shoot for . In collaboration with Wild Fox Distillery Henry and Claire from the Thirsty Rambler have created there very own gin - The Gintrepid Rambler!! and by heck it does taste good! to twin with this they also have an awesome new branded glass tumbler (which also fits a can of beer!). All designs were created by Claire Wilson Designs

We chose the colour palette and style to match the interior of the bar. Glass is a tricky one to photograph because of all the reflections, but with knowledge and patience (and a bit of OCD🤣) anything is possible. Suffice to say, I am extremely happy with the results! Let me know what you think! and if you know anyone thats in need of product photography then tag them or get them to give me a shout!

The One - Sherry cask

I remember hearing of a distillery that had just opened outside of Keswick in the Lake district about 7 years ago, so of course I had to go investigate!!

They had a founders club membership with places left, when we visited for a tour. For these members the first batch of casks of their very first single malt whisky were put to one side. You then received a bottle and 2 miniatures of this every year for ten years as it matures! sooooo of course I had to sign up! you also got your name engraved on a plaque in the distillery.

I also bought this bottle as it is no 1069 of 3335 of the first batch of "The One" blend that was matured in sherry casks.

Hibiki means resonance in Japanese.

Resonating from nature and all the subtleties found from the twenty-four seasons of the old Japanese lunar calendar.”Indeed, the twenty-four seasons are recollected byHibiki’s bottle-shape, which has twenty-four facets. (taken from the Hibiki website)

It's going to be a special occasion opening this bottle!

A beast of a whisky! Some whisky drinkers have VERY specific tastes and don't deviate. I tend to enjoy and appreciate nearly every type of whisky and will always try something I have never had before.
