Back running a harvest mice workshop the other day and catching up on the breeding program . Estimated that the numbers are now up to around 50 mice which is amazing. These will be released into the wild next year after careful research into the most suitable location. .cameras .uk

I have wanted to set up this particular shoot for ages. Many local equestrian’s will remember Rocky’s Ranch from years ago, where a rather scary lady named Rocky (named after Rocky Marciano because she apparently knocked her ex husband out with a punch) used to do western trail riding across the local moors. A few years ago my friend Caro and her partner Andrew moved into the property and the original Ranch house became Caro’s studio where she continued to build the Workingline brand of Dogs and Country lifestyle photography. We never got around to organising this before though had talked about it but finally it has happened. Thank you to Andrew of Workingline Images, Dog & Country Life Photography for helping with the set ups and lugging stuff about 🤣 To my friends Kath Connell and her steed Orla and Keira Benham with her dog Bear for being my models and to everyone who lent us additional props. My idea was to recreate a western style ranch scene and initially envisaged this to be a sepia picture reminiscent of times gone by. I have posted both the sepia and colour versions and would welcome others views on what they prefer. The final picture is of the team looking a bit like the Beverly Hillbillies. I don’t think Andrew was anticipating being sat on a horse when he got up that morning 🤣

On my recent trip to Slovenia for Penda Photo Tours as well as the bears we also had a wonderful encounter with a family of foxes. Although we have foxes back home, where they are often viewed as pests, their behaviour in Slovenia is quite different. Here, they are primarily rural and forest-dwelling animals, sharing their habitat with large carnivores that are both natural predators and competitors.
Watching them in this wild setting was a real privilege. The vixen and her cubs cubs spent more than an hour playing, chasing each other, and exploring the area together. It was fascinating to observe their natural behaviour and a reminder of how different a species can seem when seen in its true environment rather than on the edge of human settlements.

Join Pandora and Andrew for an equine photography workshop in the Autumn colours, designed to elevate your skills amidst stunning seasonal backdrops. We start with dynamic action shots on the gallops as horses train with their jockeys, followed by exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunities at the yard. The workshop then moves to a carefully selected location where several horses and their owners will join us, providing a unique chance to capture beautiful portraits in a variety of settings. You will learn how to work with horses and their owners for relaxed posing, safety aspects to consider and also the need to be confident with your settings. This workshop is weather dependant therefore we have a back up date of 15th October just in case.
