About Us
The Cameron Life Photo Library (CLPL) is the commercial arm of the Cameron Life Collection (CLC) – CLC being the archive preserving the works, artefacts and relevant data of and concerning our initial principal contributor Charles Everest – award winning stills photographer; lighting and newsreel cameraman; and producer. One of CLPL’s major aims is to raise the funds necessary to preserve
and restore items in the CLC archive for posterity. We achieve this goal through activities based on the showing and marketing of images and related merchandise from the CLC archive. In addition to this online shop specialising in material related to the Isle of Wight Musical Festival 1970, we offer mobile exhibition facilities to promoters for whom all or part of our collection may be relevant to their needs – we are able to assist in selection, production, delivery, display and monetisation of exhibitions based on promoter specifications and requirements. We are particularly interested in assisting in the organisation of multi-disciplinary events which may for instance include live performances, complementary exhibits and intersection with other activities as required. Although our currently available range is largely centred on the Isle of Wight Music Festival we are working hard in the background to bring on collections of other subject matter covering myriad aspects of the social, commercial and industrial history of the latter half of the 20th Century. We are also looking to recruit other photographers to contribute to the Photo Library and gain further exposure for their work as well as benefitting from our other services such as image licensing management, online retail facilities etc. The Cameron Life Collection is owned by the surviving family of Charles Everest (1929-2015), and the Cameron Life Photo Library is run by members of that same group.
