Such a pleasure working for an amazing charity!
Definitely a place to visit, with a lovely cafe too 😎☀️
We’re delighted to share that Creswell Heritage Trust has been awarded £184,705 from the Museum Estate and Development (MEND) Fund to help carry out essential repairs across the site. This funding, delivered by Arts Council England on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, will help protect access to our internationally important Ice Age heritage and improve safety, accessibility and the visitor experience.
The project includes replacing the ageing steps leading up to the caves, used by hundreds of visitors and thousands of schoolchildren each year. And the replacement of the wooden footbridge to the meadow, creating a safer and more accessible crossing. Anyone who has visited recently will have seen all the repairs the team have made to try and make them last as long as possible. This vital funding means we can fully replace all the broken elements and ensure safe access for the long term.
While this grant represents a major milestone, we still need to raise £14,200 in match funding to complete the full programme of work. You may have noticed our, ‘Care for the Crags’ campaign, which highlights the importance of your support in helping to protect and maintain the site, ensuring continued access to this remarkable place.
We have launched a dedicated fundraising page to support the project, and a number of local organisations have already pledged their support through donations and help in kind, including the Gordon Bramah Charitable Settlement, The BNA Charity, Planterior and Lhoist.

Every contribution helps us safeguard Creswell Crags for future generations and we simply couldn't do it without you. Thank you very much.
