Planning a 2027 Wedding?

Did you know that certain wedding dates in 2027 are already shaping up to be extremely popular?

The most sought-after Saturday is expected to be 22nd May 2027, closely followed by 12th June 2027 and 29th May 2027 (Bank Holiday weekend) — with summer Saturdays booking up fastest across the UK.

Alongside these peak dates, there are also a few “aesthetic” and numerology-inspired dates that couples are loving, including:

✨ 07.07.27 (Wednesday)
✨ 08.08.27 (Sunday)
✨ 10.10.27 (Sunday)
✨ 27.07.27 (Tuesday)

These kinds of memorable dates tend to get snapped up quickly, especially by couples who want something unique, symbolic, or easy to remember.

If you're planning a wedding on one of these key dates, it’s worth knowing that your favourite venues and suppliers — including photographers — are already receiving enquiries for these dates! The earlier you secure your team, the more choice you’ll have and the more relaxed your planning journey will feel.

The good news? We are currently taking bookings for 2027 and 2028 weddings. Drop me a message to check availability and let’s start planning your wedding photography together.

As we head into the wedding season for 2026, it has been a perfect time to reflect back on previous clients I have worked with and the weddings I have been fortunate to be involved in.

I get to see moments that not many other wedding guests get to see; those nervous moments minutes before the ceremony starts, the excitement of the bridal party seeing the bride in her dress, and the moment the father of the bride sees his daughter taking a step into a new chapter of her life. I wouldn't change my job for anything!

Whether you’re just starting out or have been behind the lens for years, a few small tweaks can make a big difference to your shots. Here are some tips I swear by:

- Light is everything – Natural light can transform your photos. Shoot during golden hour for that soft, magical glow.
- Composition matters – Use the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing to guide the viewer’s eye.
- Focus on the details – Sometimes it’s the small things - a smile, a hand holding a cup, a fleeting glance - that tell the story best.
- Experiment with angles – Don’t just shoot at eye-level; try high, low, or unexpected perspectives.
- Practice patience – The best moments often happen when you wait and observe quietly.

Photography is about capturing stories, emotions, and moments, and the more intentional you are, the more powerful your images become.

I am fortunate enough to have travelled the World and captured moments that I never thought would happen, from stunning landscapes to just a snippet in time, just like this image. I didn't want to waste them, so I now offer a service to turn my images into limited edition framed prints for you to enjoy.

The wedding industry is booming - bringing in an estimated £3.9 billion each year, with around 265,000 marriages taking place annually in the UK.

Safe to say… it’s a BIG industry.

Here are a few interesting stats that might surprise you:

• The average age for getting married is now 34.8 for men and 33 for women - the highest it’s ever been
• 77% of couples choose to have their ceremony and reception at the same venue
• Barn weddings are now the most popular (21%), followed by hotels (19%) and country houses (15%)
• The average cost of a wedding sits at £21,990
• Saturdays are still the favourite day to tie the knot, with June topping the list for most popular month

It’s always interesting to see how trends evolve over time - some of these might not be what you’d expect.

Anything here surprise you?

“I’m awkward in front of the camera” is something I hear all the time.

And honestly? That’s completely normal.

My job isn’t to make you pose perfectly, it’s to help you feel comfortable enough to just be yourselves. That’s when the best photos happen.

It’s easy to focus on the big moments during the day; the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance.

But often, it’s the smaller details that end up meaning the most.

The way someone holds your hand. A quick glance across the room. The little in-between moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

These are the parts of the day that can easily be missed - but they’re often the ones that bring everything back when you look through your photos later.

That’s always what I’m quietly looking out for.
