Another PB & A TOP 10 PLACING 🤩

Dressage 👉🏽 36.8% in a harsh marking section with not 1 sub 30 given… I’ll take that. I was disappointed initially. He warmed up beautifully but tensed up in the white boards which was a shame. None the less, a mistake free test so I can’t complain too much 👍🏼

Show Jumping 👉🏽 Our best round to date with only 1 POLE DOWN 🎉🙈 2 time penalties for going too slow but I don’t mind that because he jumped SO well. I came out that ring beaming from ear to ear 😆 This was the biggest win of the day for me! 😍

Cross Country 👉🏽 CLEAR & INSIDE THE TIME 🎉 One thing i wanted to achieve from this XC round was to canter through both the waters instead of bringing him back to a trot. Mission accomplished, he flew into them without a second of hesitation 🚀 He’s just getting better and better. His confidence just continues to improve, I’m so proud of him 💪🏽

So we finished on a personal best score of 42.8 in 9th place at our second 80cm ODE💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

Never have I ever been out to compete in pure dressage… until today 🙈✅ (Unaffiliated)

Knightly rode an accurate test but it was very tense so not our best performance. I didn’t particularly enjoy riding it, especially with the heat in that indoor 🥵 However on reflection after watching it back, it looked better than it felt (it always does luckily) so I’m pleased 🙌🏽 Free walk on a long rein was again my favourite and best movement for double marks, finishing in 3rd place on a score of 66.95% 💃🏼

Credit where credits due… this was his first dressage test inside on a surface. He’s only previously ridden dressage on grass out eventing. He also went with his stable bestie and neighbour Otis which made him a little unfocused and nappy, but he got the job done and did well to produce the test his did 🙌🏽

Hats off to all you pure dressage divas out there… it’s a lot of effort and prep for a 4 min test and 20 min warm up 🫠🤣

We jumped our first 90cm round this weekend 💪🏽

Aim of the game was to take the speed out, and allow us to get in deep. Instead of pushing for the longer take offs which flattens his jump. Im slowly learning what’s best for him 🫣🤣

Well I stuck to the plan and only had 2 poles (8 faults) which is really good for us, especially for his first 90cm 🎉 He was SO rideable, confident, but really waited and used himself to get us out of numerous deep shots. I was also really happy with how I rode it 🙌🏽

We had 2 poles (8 faults) in our 80cm round too but my riding was naff… way too backwards, reins all over the place, elbows up by my ears, I even dropped my left rein at one point trying to shorten them back up. It was a messy, scrappy, rookie riding round. Pleased to say I sorted it out for the 90cm 🙈👍🏼

OUR BEST EVENTING SCORE YET 🎉😍💪🏽

Our first ever 80 event and we finished on a PB score 🥹

DRESSAGE 🟰 Our best mark to date with 32% 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 He warmed up beautifully, a little behind the leg which was then exaggerated in our test when riding away from the warm up. Never used so much leg to keep the rhythm 🥵🤣 But overall an accurate test which clearly looked better than it felt, and a huge improvement from our last event 👍🏼

SHOW JUMPING 🟰 3 down 🤦🏽‍♀️ I came out disappointed but after watching the video footage I’m SO pleased with how he jumped. We went clear over the first 7 FENCES (including a 2 strides double) and I thought for a split second *oh my god we might go clear here* … should not have thought that because the next 3 final fences we had down 😭🤣 I let my excitement take over and didn’t concentrate on my riding. Lesson learnt. The rounds not over till it’s over, and don’t blooming look back at a fence to see if it’s come down when you’re about to jump your final related distance Sam 🙄

CROSS COUNTRY 🟰 WE WENT CLEAR 💪🏽 2 seconds over the optimum time but I don’t wear a watch so I’m bloody chuffed with that 🚀 HE WAS INCREDIBLE!!! So forward and confident from the moment he left the start box! Sailed through 2 waters, jumped some pretty beefy and colourful fences without hesitation! I’m over the moon 🌙
