Hello!

The first picture is the first new picture of 2022. Lasting a total of 6 weeks, fixed to some iron work off the coast path looking out of the cove. There is still another camera in action at the vegetable field, surviving the weather pretty well.

I've put together a black and white series including some older pictures that I've reworked to portray how the photographs showe softened timeless representation of a rather harsh and brutal environment.

Solva harbour 2021

Hit and miss this year. Late to the show, a small amount of cameras out, many of which failed to capture a clear image. The new type of camera I made filled with water and produced nothing.

All was not lost however, this camera sat for months watching out of solva harbour and survived to present us with this image.

I have some stock of cameras, thinking about doing a winter run after the solstice.

Thanks to the RNLI I've got a camera facing west at Ramsey. Thoroughly enjoy the visit.

From the Queens Steps on Solva Harbour, a camera attempted to capture a solargraph across the harbour. The picture captured tells a short story. It was put up around midday and the shutter taken off. For the rest of the day it tracked the sun as it set to the west, coming down the picture as the red line to meet the horizon. Across the harbour, the Gribbon makes an impression into the sky but before the sun rose the next day, the camera was crumpled one way or another. Leaving the various creases on the photograph paper inside the camera. I visited the harbour to check on the camera the following day and stored it away until I developed all the pictures together.

Thanks to the people who have shared this with me. I cant believe the paper would expose for that long! Only one way to find out for myself.

Eight years one month. That's how long a beer can pinhole camera spent capturing this solargraph at the University of Hertfordshire’s Bayfordbury Observatory. Featuring 2,953 light trails of the sun's movement, the image is thought to be the longest exposure photograph in existence, surpassing Mic...
