The source of the river Ure is located on Abbotside common- Wensleydale, not far from Buttertubs pass in the Yorkshire dales.. It flows 74 miles east/ south east to eventually change its name to the river Ouse near Linton on Ouse 8 miles north west of York - Eventually making its way to the Humber Estuary and into the North Sea. 129 miles (208km) in total from source to mouth. The below photo is from the southern outskirts of Askrigg (Wensleydale) around 8 miles from the source of the river.
