Okay but this bird did NOT wake up and choose subtle. 🔥 Out here serving iridescent neck realness, red carpet eye shadow, and a feather pattern that looks custom designed by nature’s most extra stylist. Meanwhile I can’t even coordinate my socks. Just a casual woodland king strutting around like he owns the forest and pays zero rent. Respect.

Trip to Books and Bakes in Washington galleries to pick up a new book for the boy. Books And Bakes NE is fantastic a wonderful place to discover the next book obsession, with a wide selection and the ability to order without paying a deposit for delivery as soon as next working day. And what's better than a book shop? A book shop with coffee and cake. This capachino was delightful and the boy assures me the brownie was great too. They have reading chairs in the bookshelves where you can block out the world and dive into another, as well as these awesome mystery book packs in the hidden library. The owners are super friendly and are real book people just like us. Check them out if you are in the tyne and wear area.

Back lit Robin at Cragside
I don't often like to photograph animals that are back lit but this Robin looked almost angelic.
I love his little tufty beard that is catching the light.

Failure to float.
Coni Fer had such high hope of bobbing down the stream.
With every advantage her parent could give, swimming was her dream.
Her treetop home, a prime local; Northumbrian estate.
The Cragside river far below, her swimming chance felt great.
As sunrise woke the frozen leaves she decided, time was right.
And with an unheard "crack" that morning Coni Fer took flight.
She lay, confused, she couldn't swim, the water she did lack.
What should have been a joyful splash, a disappointing "THWACK".
Lonesome on the ice all day, her own company she kept
And silently lamented "Wish I'd looked before I lept"
