“Full Moon Rising and Nightjar” a months work learning, watching and planning all came together as the full moon 🌕 swept behind the Nightjars perch and I was left punching the air with joy at 11:30 at night. The composite moon/bird doesn’t work which is a good thing anyway. 😎🤣

“The Full Moon Rising & Nightjar” this image has taken a month of research, fieldwork and learning! I was hoping to get a decent picture with moonlight assistance & read about the super elusive “moon silhouette Nightjar” shot. But my plans all fell into line and I was hopping up & down punching the air on a remote common at 11:30pm. This may or may float your boat, you but for me it’s definitely THE most hard fought & satisfying imagery I’ve managed to date😎👍🏻

It’s taken a month to get this and to be honest I never dreamt I could get the silhouette shot (fyi it’s a reel not an image it just starts after 5 seconds 🤦🏼‍♂️) 😎🤣👍🏻

“Needle in a haystack” after some thermal Snipe watching fun and games last week I managed to apply the learnings today! After recognising the thermal signature it took me another 2 minutes to actually identify the Birds Eye from the camo even though I thought I knew where it was 🤬 but finally the beautiful little squatter came into view and my oh my what a stunner! Finally a sitting Snipe (my 1st) and elected a nice day in waterworks to be a fantastic memorable one 💪🏻😎

"Skimming" - The subzero temperatures of 2026's 1st weekend were a great opportunity to get out and see whats around and as it turned out rather a lot ! Had to pack in after my toes and index finger went numb - but not before Kingfisher, Snipe and Muntjac made their presence known 🤪 HNY26
