Biopic Photography is now Biopic Media.

The new name reflects how much my work with schools has developed over the past few years.

Photography is still a huge part of what I do, but I'm now working with schools and multi-academy trusts across photography, video and drone, from website and prospectus photography to recruitment films, pupil voice and content across whole trusts.

My background in education remains at the heart of it. Having spent nearly 20 years working in schools, including as a headteacher, I understand the environment, the people and the stories that schools want to share.

Biopic Photography is now Biopic Media.

Photography is still a huge part of what I do, but with video and drone becoming an increasingly important part of my work, the old name no longer told the whole story.

So, new name, new look, same approach.

There is always a moment during an event when you know it has truly landed.

It is not when the speaker walks on stage.
It is not when the slides appear.
It is when the audience leans forward.
When people stop checking their phones.
When laughter spreads across the room.
When applause starts before the final slide.
That is when the energy shifts.

As an event photographer, those are the moments I am watching for.Because those are the images that tell the real story of a conference, awards evening or corporate event.

When there is time, everything settles.

Time to walk the property first.

Great venues do more than host events. They shape how they feel.

Photographing events at places like the Repertory Theatre in Birmingham is a reminder of how architecture, light and space all play a part in the story. From the moment people arrive to how they engage with speakers, the venue quietly sets the tone.

A great example of why education events matter.
It was a pleasure to photograph the recent Education Insights event at the Repertory Theatre in Birmingham. A day filled with thoughtful keynote speakers, teaching award winners and representatives from schools across the region, all coming together to share ideas and celebrate impact.

Catching moments like this is often about patience rather than speed.
A quiet pause by the water, watching the light change, and then everything lines up for a second. The simplicity of flight, clean lines, and calm movement against a busy background.
