I don't have a studio as I prefer getting out and about and making the most of nature but what I do have is imagination, a ton of energy and a promise to keep it simple....and fun!

I've spent the last week taking some much needed down time with my family... exploring Cornwall whilst wondering what might be next for me.

Six(ish) years ago, following Covid, I told Mr.C I felt that I needed a 'little' job to get out, be with people and 'fill my bucket'. Not 24hrs later, I stumbled upon a job advert and just a few weeks later, stepped into a new role as a Primary School Librarian... it changed my life.

If you've encountered me, these past years, you'll know it was the best decision and in moving into a full time role, it lead me to the decision that it was time to pause the photography business.... especially weddings. I've now decided to close down the website; it will be taken down very soon and despite it being time to move forwards, it feels hard to say goodbye to my 'store front' for the past 14 years.

As for family sessions? I might be tempted to squeeze in the odd one here and there for returning clients 🥰 I'm not sure I could hang my camera up completely.

As it happens, the tide is shifting again so who knows what the coming year holds but, for now, it's 'officially' goodbye to The Cole Portfolio website... and hello to new opportunities. Easter is all about new beginnings, after all.

Thank you to all my clients, to the clients that have become friends and to the friends (and family!!!) that have championed me and recommend me to this day. I love you all and have loved being the curator of your memories.

Oh, the Summer holidays! Aren't they amazing? Especially when you are finally balancing your work and home life well enough that you are able to travel to Scotland with your family and incorporate the wedding of a colleague and friend into your holiday.

Bex and Kev's elopement to the Isle of Skye was an absolute gift...to be honest, I'm not sure I'll ever get over it. The scenery, the people and the pups...it was just amazing. Thank you, both, for allowing me the pleasure of documenting such a special moment in your lives.

Wow...haven't I been lazy! It's astonishing to me that the months have rolled around so swiftly and, I'll be totally honest, social media updates have slid quite a huge way down the priority list. Whoops! That said, I have some corkers from shoots that I've not shared so I will endeavour to do this soon.

Confessions of a social-media dodger....

I've been dodging social media since the pandemic lockdown. I loved not thinking about content, marketing and strategies and I've not missed having an online presence at all! My priorities have shifted hugely this past couple of years and I've been enjoying a slower pace and more organic business growth.

Having been hiding away from the world a but, I'm a bit behind with my posts! To get back on the band-wagon, I'm going to leap to this gorgeous wedding that we documented last weekend. Katy & Ross married in Bursledon and celebrate on the bank of the River Hamble with their nearest and dearest. Such a gorgeous, laid back, celebratory occasion.... just perfect.

Yesterday, I had the tremendous pleasure of documenting Steve and Consy's marriage at Wi******er Registry Office and their celebrations at Hotel Du Vin. I never fail to be bowled over by the number of kind and wonderful people I meet at weddings...this was an especially brilliant group of people. Here's a little preview of their day!

These are two of the most down to earth, kind and fun people I've ever met...they actually make my face hurt from smiling. Understandably, they were pretty 'over' the Covid related postponements and just wanted to be married...so that's what they did! With a handful of their nearest and dearest, they gathered at Orsett Hall in Essex and got wed!

Next year, the magic happens all over again when they get to celebrate with ALL their loved ones and I honestly cannot wait!

I only photographed AN ACTUAL WEDDING!! It was a long ol' wait for this special day but boy was it worth it... I full on blubbed my eyes out in the church!

Thank you to one of the MOST incredible couples I've ever met. Thank-you for being on the NHS front line throughout Covid, thank you for remaining so incredibly positive every time your wedding was postponed and most of all, thank you for choosing us to document your day.

Here's proof that the best things are worth waiting for...even if there is a hurricane on your big day!! ###x
