This evening was the third night of Southampton Summer Sessions and heading the bill was Pete Tong with his Ibiza Classics show. It was a tricky one to photograph. Pete hides at the back of the stage, and it wasn't quite dark enough for the lights to look their best. We had good access though, shooting from the sound desk, the side of the stage, and in the pit. You can just about see Mr T if you squint! The music was great though, and the audience loved it!

The opening night of this years Southampton Summer Sessions (the first of 10 nights of music in Guildhall Square this month), was headlined by Amy Macdonald. I think she might be from Scotland, but I could be wrong ;-)

Anyway, the sun was shining, the music was good, and her audience loved her!

As a photographer we normally get the first three songs of an act. That was exactly the case for every artist at Wychwood Festival. However, The Levellers ripped up the rule book and said we could photograph the entirety of their Sunday headline performance. Lovely, except that I was knackered after four days at a hot and sticky (although really rather excellent) festival and really just wanted to get on the road for the 2 hour drive home.

Anyway, hopefully next time I'll get to shoot them for a bit longer!

One of the bands on the smaller stage at Wychwood Festival last weekend were Pebble Daisy. Actually that's the name of the lead singer, but she plays two others (her sister included). They popped into the press tent before their set, and I bumped into them for a chatter the day after. Nice peoples!

I'd never heard of The Pigeon Detectives before they stepped on the Wychwood Festival stage last weekend. I won't forget them though, their front man Matt Bowman put on quite the show, including soaking me with water. Thankfully it was a hot day, and was actually quite welcome!
