It's Manhole Monday 🎉

In a popular T.V. quiz show there is a round called "Where is Kazakhstan?". One person who knows the answer is Benjamin Dee-Shapland who has sent us this week's manhole cover from its capital city, Astana.
Astana is on the banks of the river Ishim, on which you can rent pedalo boats if you wish to take to the water.

Wheels on Wednesday!
A little car with a big personality. Born from British design and American ambition, the Metropolitan became a stylish icon of the 1950s. Famous owners included Steve jobs, HRH princess Margaret and Elvis Presley.

This particular one can be found at the Haynes Motor Museum where LCE will be holding the on the 12th September 2026!

It's Manhole Monday 🎉
This week we are still in Krakow. The inscription on this manhole cover is an abbreviation of "Stołeczne Królewskie Miasto Kraków", which translates to "Royal Capital City of Kraków".

It's Manhole Monday 🎉
This week's offering has been sent in by Sadie (a valued customer!), currently out in Cee in Galicia, Spain.
The shell at the bottom of this design is the symbol of Saint Santiago, and a sign that someone has done the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, (Camino de Santiago). The shell symbol can be dated back to the 15th century, with pilgrims being buried with shells.
