What a formidable fortress this must have been dating back to its creation by William the Conqueror from the 11th century and beyond!

Perched atop one of the Purbeck Hills overlooking both roadway and village, it can be seen for miles and must have appeared as a real challenge to any medieval enemies looking to lay siege

Weymouth is an absolute gem on a sunny day, and its emerald green waters just add to its beauty.

There truly is a massive culture surrounding all things water-based with many of the houses you pass by having some craft or another in their driveways and gardens - as well as a multitude moored within the various marinas around the town. A boat lovers delight!
