🚧 Southport Pier Restoration Update 🌊

I took the drone up to have a look at the ongoing renovation and restoration of Southport Pier.

There is a lot happening on site and it’s great to see the work progressing. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we can finally walk along Southport Pier again! 🤞

It’s such an iconic part of Southport, and I’m sure many of us are looking forward to seeing it restored and open to the public once more. ❤️

🚁 Kew Estate Southport – Another Development Update!

There’s been a LOT of activity since my last flight over Kew Estate! 🚧

More machinery has arrived, more work is taking place, and there have been some noticeable changes across the site. From the air, you can really see how much progress has been made and how the area is starting to change.

It will be interesting to keep coming back and seeing how this development progresses over the next few months. 👀

📸 Royal Birkdale Golf Club is changing day by day!

Every visit reveals something new as preparations continue ahead of The Open 2026. More land is being transformed, additional fencing has been installed, and the site continues to evolve at an impressive pace.

It’s been fascinating to document these changes from the air and compare how much progress is being made with each update.

Instead of being a safe place for local children to play, it is currently occupied by 10+ caravans. A playground is not a caravan site, and this situation is completely unacceptable.

Public spaces that are intended for families and children should be protected and kept available for the community that they were built for. It’s disappointing to see a play area taken over in this way.

I hope the relevant authorities act quickly to restore this playground to its intended purpose.

⛳ Hillside Open Preparations Getting Bigger Every Week!

🚁 Latest drone footage from Hillside as preparations for The Open Championship continue to grow.

More land is now being occupied, additional infrastructure is appearing, and new fencing can be seen alongside the green land areas as work ramps up ahead of the tournament.

The scale of the preparations is becoming more impressive with every update.

🚁 MLEC Southport Progress Update – June 2026

Latest drone footage from the Marine Lake Events Centre site in Southport.

Most recently, we've heard reports that the original cost estimates may have been significantly underestimated, with the project now expected to cost over £100 million.

Do you think the MLEC project will actually go ahead?

Caught part of an awesome live performance from Pirate Taxi at Southport’s Big Top Festival 🎪 The town was absolutely packed with people, creating an amazing atmosphere all around. Even though the sun kept hiding behind the clouds, the energy and vibes didn’t disappoint at all!

Great to see events like this bringing so many people together 🙌

MLEC Project Southport Update – What’s Going On? 🤔

Surprisingly, there still isn’t much happening on site and no clear updates from Sefton. It feels like progress has stalled again.

Southport hillside update (12th April) 🚧 | Rapid changes at Royal Birkdale

Latest drone footage from 12th April shows just how quickly things are changing near Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

Compared to previous years, the scale of development now feels much bigger — more machinery, more groundwork, and even more transformation of the land. New roads are expanding, the site is growing fast, and it’s clear that work is progressing at a much higher pace.

It really looks like more effort is being put into reshaping this area than ever before.

With the upcoming event getting closer, everything is ramping up — but it still leaves the big question:

👉 Will this land be restored after it’s all over, or are these changes here to stay?
