GRZEGORZ’S GREAT RUN — 1,200 MILES FOR CHILDREN
On Saturday, 5 September, Grzegorz completed an incredible journey.
Just 18 days earlier, he had set off from Łódź, Poland, with one enormous challenge ahead of him — to run 1,200 miles all the way to the UK.
But this wasn’t just about running or breaking a personal record.
Grzegorz was running for children, raising money for two children’s homes — one in Łódź, Poland 🇵🇱 and one in Skegness, UK 🇬🇧.
I had the privilege of being there at the finish line and capturing a few moments of this truly special day.
The exhaustion. The emotions. The smiles. The tears. The hugs. And that incredible moment when you realise that something almost impossible has finally been achieved.
These photographs are my small contribution to Grzegorz’s story.

When I visited The Stork's Nest Community Centre just a few days ago, it was completely quiet—empty rooms, a calm atmosphere, and a blank canvas.
Fast forward just 48 hours, and the transformation is unbelievable! I saw on Facebook that the place is now absolutely buzzing with energy. The community café is open, people are gathering, and you can already feel this space becoming the true heartbeat of the local community.
As a photographer, I love capturing how quickly a physical space can change when people finally bring it to life. Unfortunately, this time my health locked me in, and I couldn't go back to record this fantastic metamorphosis myself.

I’m going to show you today’s world in black and white. Not because things are taking a turn for the worse, but because there is something organic—something deeply sentimental—hidden within monochrome photographs. It is simply something that cannot be captured in colour; it has to be black and white.
Black-and-white photography holds a unique magic; it strips the image of unnecessary distractions, allowing us to focus on the pure essence of the moment. Forgoing colour is not a loss—it is a powerful means of expression that draws attention to emotion, the interplay of light and shadow, texture, and the geometry of the frame.
