These portrait shots were created during a recent branding session for Ruby from HairbyRuby. Alongside a collection of personal branding portraits, we also captured images of Ruby at work in the salon, recorded short video clips and created several ready to post reels for her social media.

I'm really pleased with this month's Legacy Photography Awards results.

Particularly proud of the two 2nd Place images. To clarify, Legacy awards multiple placements where images achieve the same score, so there can be more than one 2nd Place in a category. Even so, it's always encouraging to see your work recognised.

I'm also delighted that several images from Ruby's recent branding shoot scored highly. It's great to see commercial branding work being recognised alongside my portrait and bo***ir photography.

We're often your own biggest critic, so having work judged positively by others is always appreciated. Congratulations to everyone who received awards this month.

Busy couple of days designing client albums (surprisingly so much work involved behind the scenes!) and creating reels for a client, which I’m actually finding really creatively rewarding.

I thought now my business has grown a little, it was the perfect time to properly reintroduce myself…

Hi, I’m Ruby the proud owner of HairByRuby ✨

Over the past year, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting and creating blonde transformations that have completely changed my hairdressing game. From subtle refreshes to the boldest blonde makeovers, every client has helped me grow into the stylist I am today 🤍

One of my proudest moments (if you couldn’t already tell 😂) was being recognised in the Top 10 in the UK for Best of Blonde 2025. Honestly… I don’t think I’ll ever stop talking about it! 🥹✨

My second proudest moment? Being told that if I wasn’t a hairdresser, I’d definitely be a comedian… so now I spend half my appointments practicing my jokes too 🤣

So, what can you expect from HairByRuby?

When you sit in my chair, I want you to leave feeling more confident than when you walked in. And no… unfortunately I don’t offer foot massages while doing your hair 😂

But what I do offer is an experience where you feel comfortable, listened to, and beautiful.

We live in a world full of pressure and unrealistic expectations, especially through social media. As a woman, I know how important confidence can be and being able to help enhance that through hair is something I’ll never take for granted 🤍

Whether it’s a simple trim, a fresh blonde, or the craziest transformation, making people feel amazing is the reason I love what I do.

One thing I also love about this industry is the support between hairdressers. Seeing other stylists smashing their goals, helping each other, sharing advice, and growing together is what makes this industry so special ✨
