"INDIA'S GOLDEN TRIANGLE"
Presented by Stafford Steed, LRPS, CPAGB

This Tuesday we welcome back Stafford Steed - a member of Ware & District Camera Club with his talk on “India’s Golden Triangle” –

In this talk Stafford will be describing his experiences and the sights to be seen in this area of India, known as India's Golden Triangle - including Delhi, Agra (and the Taj Mahal), Jaipur and Ranthambore National Park.

If you have an interest in photography, or India, and are interested in coming along - you don’t have to book, but the Club charges a small visitor fee for non-members attending one of its evenings.**
Please aim to arrive by 7.15 pm, so that we can commence proceedings at 7.30 pm.
We meet in the Club House of the Outdoor Bowling Club in St Neots - St Anselm Place PE19 1AP
**Visitor fee for the evening is £5 which includes a cuppa at break time and the opportunity to chat with our existing members.
If you then decide to join the Club as a member, this charge can then be deducted from the annual membership subscription.

CAPTURING THE MAGICAL WORLD OF INSECTS
Annie Healey FRPS DPAGB EFIAP/g A.APS BPE5*

This Tuesday we will be joined by multi award-winning photographer Annie Healey who will be joining us via Zoom

Annie has spent the last 16 years gaining her distinctions and accreditations, to achieve photographic excellence.

She had two images shortlisted in the 2021 Close-up Photographer of the Year and in 2022, was shortlisted in the British Wildlife Photography Awards.

She is also one of a select 60 photographers (per Exhibition) to have a print accepted in the prestigious Photographic Alliance of
Great Britain (PAGB) Masters of Print in 2020, 2021 and 2024, winning a Silver Medal for a Judge’s Choice in 2021 and again in 2024.

Annie provides PAGB Awards for Photographic Merit (APM)
mentoring, via her Federation, and is also an assessor on the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Natural History Associate & Fellowship Panel.

Annie is an Honorary Member of Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society, having held many different Committee posts over the years. She leads the clubs’ Awards & Distinctions Special Interest Group and, in 2021, joined Molesey Photographic Club, where she is now part of the External Competitions Selection team.

A former President of the Surrey Photographic Association (SPA), Annie is now the Chair of the SPA Exhibitions & Events Sub-Committee, organising the Biennial Exhibition and all Inter-Club
Competitions and events.

This talk will include practical aspects of insect photography, ie. methods used from the capture of an image, along with technical details, through to producing the final result. A wide variety of insects, varying in size from less than 1mm to around 63mm in size, will be on display, to amaze, inform and inspire

This week we have two presentations by Club Member, Tim Goldsmith

"AN INTRODUCTION TO USING VINTAGE LENSES ON DIGITAL CAMERAS”
&
“A HISTORY OF 3D PHOTOGRAPHY"

Starting out as a studio assistant, Tim has spent much of his life connected to photography in one way or another. This evening he will be sharing his thoughts and knowledge on using vintage lenses with modern digital cameras.

This will be followed with a session on 3D photography, which will include how to take 3D pictures.

The images below include an image taken by Tim on the lens as shown - a 90mm f2.8 Kilfitt Makro-Kilar - launched in the mid-1950s it was in production through to the late 1970s

The bottom right image shows an RBT 3D X2 Stereo Camera
- made by a German company (RBT-Raumbildtechnik) and based on two Ricoh SLRS fitted with matched and coupled lenses.

Should be an extremely interesting evening!

“WORKING IN THEMED PANELS”

We are joined this coming Wednesday evening by Essex based Roger Hance, a well known and respected award winning photographer who will be explaining his approach on how to put together creative panels of images and the thought process that goes into this.

With our final competition of the season being the 3 Panel "Portfolio" Competition (to be held on the 24th March), this has been arranged to inspire and assist those members wishing to submit an entry.

Additionally, this will also be useful for those members thinking of trying for a photographic distinction.

This evening we will be joined by Cambridgeshire photographer, Paul Haworth, with his talk which is designed to inspire people to give nightscape photography a go

Paul will be focusing on the adventure of nighttime image capture and will be giving some technical pointers to enable those with basic camera knowledge to take and make memorable starlit photographs.
