*Update - I just want to clarify what this post was. It *genuinely* wasn’t my intention to ‘degrade’ or hurt anyone. I purely wanted to educate on the issues and ethics surrounding AI. I’m sorry it came across the way it did, that wasn’t my goal at all.
I LOVE agility, and I want to show in conformation now my breed is recognised. It’s a huge part of my life, and has been for 15 years. I WANT to support shows, I want to support trainers, I want to support you and your businesses.
But your choice to use AI means I won’t. It means many others won’t (I have over 300 shares now across 2 profiles, so many of us agree). I was hoping that with a little more education, people would reconsider and use alternative options (like we were all doing just 12 months ago before AI), so that I can continue to support you and your businesses, and I can enjoy my hobby.
I didn’t want to hurt or cause harm to anyone. I don’t want my list of shows and trainers I will support, to continue to get smaller. I get that time and resources are valuable when you run a business; I run my own too. But if we don’t try our best to do better when we know better, what’s the point?*
To everyone saying that they use AI to make their event posters stand out, they don’t. They all look the same.
AI is unethical. It’s using vast amount of clean drinking water. It was built on stolen content. Its creator is an abuser.
