A change of pace after the Kielder Forest Rally on Saturday, we spent Sunday in Houghall Woods on the edge of Durham city.

Kielder Forest Rally

A great event. Well done to everyone involved in making it happen and to Elliot Payne on another win.

Watched Stage 3 from a small spectator area, bit tricky to get a good view but still pretty happy with some of the photos. A selection of photos are below. As always, really appreciate any comments, likes, shares and tags.

Swift Signs & Shirts Yorkshire Dales Rally

A deeply unpleasant experience on the Dales this morning, very challenging weather with horizontal icy rain and 50mph+ gusts. A great, well organised event though. Well done to everyone involved, especially all the volunteers and marshals dealing with those conditions.

Watched SS2 / Surrender from the main spectator area. A selection of photos are below. As always, really appreciate any comments, likes, shares and tags.

Tried some different edits so there will be some repeated photos with different colour tones. Couldn't decide which versions I liked most, feedback welcome.

I'm not at this weekends Riponian Rally 2026, but a chance to look back at a very wet event in 2024.

Hope all competitors, spectators and photographers have a good one! Maybe some similar scenes? Looking forward to seeing photos.

⚠️ Aurora Alert ⚠️

Looks like a big night of aurora ahead, already a severe geomagnetic storm ongoing right now. Anyone lucky enough to have clear skies has a great chance of seeing it.

Sadly there's mist and low cloud across the North East and after being involved in a car crash yesterday I have no car, so I won't be out for this one.

Here's one from an incredible display in May 2024. Tonight looks like it's reaching these levels.

Another day at the coast, this time for sunrise, and it didn't disappoint! Stunning sunrise with big waves crashing against Seaham pier, eclipsing the sun at times.

Scroll to the end for some sea glass. Some of the best pieces we've found, thanks to the stormy seas.

Snow on the beach, not something you see often!

Bitterly cold day on the North East coast but always enjoyable watching the waves ❄️🌊

We're back at the coast for sunrise tomorrow then a bit of sea glass hunting, so give me a follow if you'd like to see the results 🤞
