Front and back of the album cover I recently designed for RLW (Ralf Wehowsky) OUT NOW! Front pic is of a bizarre tree branch that was covered with snails on my old street in Archway; back is a statue wrapped in tarpaulin that caught my eye in Matsuyama.
Text and order details via Stephen Meixner below....
RLW – “Fading pictures” CD
New release on Black Rose Recordings out now. This is a cinematic and inspiring musical journey which combines beautiful ambience interspersed with haunting atmospheres and electro-acoustic soundscapes. A recent review in Vital Weekly described it as a highly diverse and excellent work. Comes with great artwork by Chris Low.
Ralf Wehowsky is one of the most respected electronic composers of our day and was one of the founder members of the seminal German group P16.D4 and the label Selektion, whose ground-breaking releases influenced many working in today’s experimental music scene.
Get in contact at [email protected] if you wish to combine your order with other releases. Also available direct from Drone Records for those of you in Europe.

***BIG NEWS***PHOTOBOOK OUT SOON***PLEASE READ***
After all the hurdles I am VERY pleased to announce my new photobook, Beyond The Monochrome, is nearly finished, MUCH better than the original version with loads of new material and will be going to the printers next Monday. Full details below.

*IMPORTANT!* If you have pre-ordered a copy PLEASE MESSAGE ME DIRECT ON MY PERSONAL FB ACCOUNT - NOT HERE to confirm the name you want to be thanked as on the inside cover (so I can check you are amongst those already listed) and also PLEASE SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS as I lost countless emails when my account was temporarily closed and I had to re-register my URL earlier in the year.

*FOR ANYONE WHO MISSED OUT ON THE PRE-ORDER* please message me direct ASAP as there is still time. All those who pre-order will have their name printed in the thanks to acknowledgement page and will have priority when copies are posted out and will also get free admission to the launch party, details of which will be announced soon.

*AND MOST OF ALL* my sincerest and heartfelt thanks to all those who have shown such patience and understanding since this project was first announced. I have every confidence it will be worth the wait.

*NOW WITH ADDITIONAL WRITTEN CONTRIBUTIONS* from members of The Alternative, Chumbawamba, Passion Killers, Riot/Clone, Rubella Ballet, Fatal Microbes, Omega Tribe, Dirt, Oi Polloi and others plus a fantastic foreword from my ol' pal, Na**lm Death founder and original vocalist, Nick Bullen.

BEYOND THE MONOCHROME COLLECTS THE BEST OF MY PHOTOS TAKEN BETWEEN THE YEARS 1982 AND 1985 OF BANDS INCLUDING CRASS, CONFLICT, THE APOSTLES, THE ALTERNATIVE, ANNIE ANXIETY, OI POLLOI, OMEGA TRIBE, ICONS OF FILTH, DIRT, ASSASSINS OF HOPE, RIOT CLONE, EAT S**T; IN PUNK SQUATS, ANARCHIST CENTRES, DIY VENUES; AT CLASS WAR ACTIONS, STOP THE CITY PROTESTS, CND RALLIES, MINERS’ STRIKE & PRINTWORKERS PICKETS … AND MUCH MORE.

A time when the punks carried a new world burning in their hearts, captured in all its raw and washed-out glory.
Beyond The Monochrome, if only just.

Apostles feature in the latest issue of Vive Le Rock magazine. Enormous thanks to Lee Powell for conducting the interview, to Sonny Tyler for sending me this pic and to the legendary Heather Bee for taking the bottom pic which, councidentally, was taken just a stone's throw from where the Recession Club used to be....

Shocked by the news. We had our differences but I'll always respect a fellow rogue, remember our Sunday afternoon phone calls - and chats with your dad when you were recording your first single - with fondness, your support of The Apostles and most recently your warmth when we caught up in Glasgow after my mum died. RIP ya nutter. And, everyone reading this: why not give some ol' pal you haven't spoken to for yonks a call? You just don't know when you'll never be able to again.
This pic is of Conflict at the Centro Iberico, 13 August, 1982. The second time I saw them that month (they played the 100 Club two weeks before) and sadly the only colour photo I still have of their set. Col had wanted to use some of my pics that I had sent him for the sleeve of their Live EP which was recorded at this gig but while they opted for a minimal cover for the record I did see a few of the photos appear in zines at the time. Such as the one i'll post below. If by any remote chance anyone has copies please drop me a line so I can forward them to anyone putting together a tribute. Sad to think that's three members of the band now no longer with us.

Looking forward to the launch of the Club Culture photography exhibition at The Ministry of Sound tonight. I don't know yet which photos of mine are included (these days I like to leave that to the curators and have a surprise at the Private View) but these are two of my favourites from all those ever taken in clubs: at Club Atom, Shibuya in 2005 and Kevin Laing and the two Andy's at Soma just after we'd opened at Wilkie House in 1990. Exhibition details below and I've still got a few guest list places for the opening party at the Ministry VIP Bar tonight so first to message me gets them - but be quick! https://the-ministry.designmynight.com/6777ce21d8fc723956430874/ourhistory-archives-club-culture-exhibition-at-the-ministry

Wishing everyone a Happy Hogmanay when it comes and here's to 2025. Slainte! 🥃
