why do I photograph newborns at home?

well..
I don't have anything against the studio style of newborn photography but it's just never been something that appeals to me personally. not as a photographer, and not as a mother.

What I love is photographing new babies with their families at home, during the time of the new baby bubble when it's all new and magical. The house is a mess, everyone's exhausted but happy, time doesn't exist.

So when I get an email like this, I am so pleased that there are clients out there for me 😌

" Currently pregnant with my second child and I’m really interested in having a photoshoot planned for when we’re at home as a family of 4.

We had a hard start with our first born and never had any professional photos taken so really want to capture her becoming a big sister as she’s very excited for the new addition to our family. And I love the idea of it being in the comfort of our own home to keep everyone relaxed and natural. "

from the bluebell location today before my clients arrived.

i love getting there early just to wait, listen to the birds and breathe in the woods. it was absolutely glorious there today. i think i can still smell the flowers and i've been home for hours now.

going back tomorrow 😌
