Went to see The Odyssey and somehow came out thinking about wedding films the entire way home 😂
There were three things in particular that really stuck with me - not because they make something look more cinematic, but because they make a moment actually mean something.
So naturally I’ve decided to steal them for the next wedding I film.
Apparently going to the cinema now counts as professional development. 🎬

This is one of my favourite things to look back at - what was happening from my side of the camera versus the photograph that came out of it.

Because in real life, these moments often look completely ordinary.

Someone walking towards me. A bit of madness with the confetti. Five minutes outside before going back to the party.
I’m not trying to manufacture a huge “wedding photography moment”. I’m just watching for that tiny fraction of a second where everything comes together.

And somehow that’s often the frame that ends up meaning the most. 🤍

Proof that not every wedding needs fireworks to be unforgettable.

Megan & Wes created a day that was all about the people they love most. Kids running wild across the gardens, huge hugs, happy tears, plenty of laughter and the kind of relaxed atmosphere where everyone could just enjoy being together.

The best days aren’t always the loudest. Sometimes they’re simply full of love, and this one absolutely was.

A little look back at such a lovely day yesterday at Millbridge Court.

There is so much I want to say about yesterday, but the only words that are coming to me are that I am absolutely obsessed with these two, Anna & Lance! 🤍

From the moment I arrived, they brought the kind of energy you can’t create, only hope for. Constant laughter, huge smiles, so much love for the people around them, and the sort of positivity that spreads to every single person in the room.

It was one of those weddings that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.

Thank you both for making me feel so welcome, for trusting me to tell your story, and for simply being such wonderful humans. I genuinely can’t wait to show you the rest.

On her very first day of school, I held this little hand as we crossed the boundary into a whole new chapter of her life.

Today, I held it again as we crossed back over that same line for the very last time.

Her hand is bigger now. Her wrist is covered in friendship bracelets. She doesn’t need me in quite the same way she did then.

But for one final walk, she still reached for me.

As photographers, we spend so much time searching for the big moments. The perfect light, the laughter, the confetti, the photographs that immediately announce their importance.

But sometimes the photograph that matters most is simply this.

Her hand in mine, crossing the same boundary we crossed together all those years ago. Only this time, instead of walking her into something new, I was walking beside her as she left it behind. 💚
