50mm Friday 50mm Friday photo project

Now using a Nikon d3400 and beginning to understand how it works! Previously a Canon 5dMk2 and a canon 50mm f1.8 lens

Just recording my journey with my 50mm lens and my attempt to love a lens I've never really got on too well with. Currently using kit lens 18-55. I will remove any spam or inappropriate comments or content added by others on this page.

It has been soooo long.

Managed a great, 17k, near 5 hour trek, taking in east and west lomond, from pillars of Hercules.

After what felt like a million steps we got on to a little less taxing grassland.

The weather was great, sunny and warm with a good breeze. We even found a couple of good patches of snow left over.

Beautiful views as always.

BEN NEVIS

Nowhere near being able to walk this yet but walked to the proper start for a couple of photos.

The walkers had a great day for it and there were a few burnt bodies who’d set off early ☀️🌤

The views on the descent were great since the cloud cleared and the view back up Ben More showed blue sky.

BEN MORE, CRIANLARICH

After the forest track we had a fairly relentless climb all the way up Ben More with wet, boggy ground in most places. But the reward was some amazing views of the landscape below and a cheeky wee rainbow 🌈 too.

MY FIRST MUNRO

The first part of the ascent of Ben More was good, solid ground underfoot. This is the point where that all ended! It had all been quite simple to here.

First hillwalk with ‘da club’.

Didn’t manage the full 18k as we couldn’t get across the river but 11k of very wet and very windy walking and some nice scenery.

Hopefully more success on the next one 😬

A brief but stunning trip to the CairnGorm Mountain Ltd and the Funicular Railway up the mountain.

The mountain had been closed for 2 days due 100mph winds and 10-15ft snow drifts but amazingly opened the day we had booked.

Stayed in a lovely hotel in Newtonmore, The Glen Hotel, which I would recommend as the meals were amazing and the room was lovely.

Anyway my first photo from the trip doesn't even look like it is in Scotland. I will definitely be back here.
