A selection of crowd shots from An Lanntair last night at Scott C Park's album launch. If you recognise anyone, get tagging! A great night was had by all!
Scott and the band, plus Isla Scott supporting really created a superb atmosphere, and there was dancing. I cannot confirm that I was witnessed dancing at one stage. The rumours aren't true..

What a night at An Lanntair last night.

Scott C Park launched his new album, Revival, and it was everything a launch night should be. The band were superb throughout, giving real depth and texture to Scott's songs, and the whole evening had that feeling of something genuinely worth being in the room for.

Support came from the wonderful Isla Scott, who then stayed on stage and joined the band for Scott's set as well. That kind of generosity between musicians always makes a night feel extra special.

But I have to single out Niamh Corkey's harmony vocals. Stunning really is the only word. The blend of her voice with Scott and Isla was one of those moments in live music that you don't forget quickly.

Revival is available now on all the usual streaming platforms and on Bandcamp if you want to support Scott directly. I've already ordered the vinyl and I'm very much looking forward to it landing on the doorstep.

Huge congratulations to Scott and everyone who made the night happen. What a way to send a new record into the world.

Yesterday morning I headed out to Uig, which sits on the west coast of Lewis and has been quietly stealing my heart for years.

The first stop was Cliff Beach, or Traigh na Clibhe to give it its proper Gaelic name. What makes this beach extraordinary, beyond that breathtaking curve of sand and the colour of the water, is what lies beneath it. Somewhere under those dunes rests a shipwreck from around a hundred years ago, slowly being reclaimed by the land. You wouldn't know it to look at it. It just looks like paradise.

From there I drove on to Mangersta Beach, a completely different character but no less spectacular. Crashing Atlantic swell, dramatic cliffs, and a sky that felt like it was putting on a performance. There were a handful of people on the path and we all just stood there, quietly, watching the waves come in. Sometimes that's all you need.

I also stopped at the stream on the moor and at the little harbour at Valtos along the way, because that's what a morning in Uig does to you. You just keep stopping.

Both places are among my absolute favourites anywhere I've ever photographed. Days like yesterday are why I love living here.

Rain streaking the glass, the harbour gone soft and grey beyond it, a mug going cold on the sill. The Blue Lobster does autumn well, that particular kind of Hebridean weather that makes you want to stay put a while.

Sitting here I keep thinking back to the East Midlands days, guitars, late rehearsals, all of it. Lost an old bandmate recently and it’s strange how a quiet window and a warm drink can bring someone back so clearly. Raise a mug to absent friends.

We're on the cusp of entering the 'ber months, and autumn is already on the horizon here at Calanais. ⏳

The days are beginning to shift, the light is changing, and there's a quiet sense that the landscape is preparing for a new season. ✨

Before we know it, the colours of autumn will be settling across the landscape, bringing a whole new atmosphere to Calanais.

Here's to those final golden days of summer sun (we hope) - and to everything autumn has in store. β˜€πŸ‚

Will you be visiting to see the low-lying light and long shadows of the stone giants?
