Sometimes you convince yourself, ‘I’ll do it tomorrow.’

You imagine that when the morning tantrums stop, when the chaos of school drop offs and after school rush gives way to a peaceful afternoon, the perfect moment will appear.

A moment when the little ones are laughing together, their eyes twinkling with mischief, and you’ve finally got 10 minutes to get through the life admin you’ve been putting off.

I’ve been there.. many times.
And that perfect window so often never comes.

Life is so busy and if you’ve been meaning to book a session but just keep telling yourself ‘I’ll do it tonight, or tomorrow’ and you still haven’t, then this is your gentle nudge to maybe reach out.

I feel incredibly lucky to do this job, to be invited into such meaningful, personal moments and trusted to document them.

Every wedding I photograph brings something different, but Aileen and Paul’s day felt quietly special in a way that’s hard to put into words.

From Aileen’s very first email, there was a sense of calm and intention behind everything they were planning. It was never about timelines or details for the sake of it, it was about creating a day that reflected their love, and the deep connection they share with the people around them.

And that’s exactly what it was.

There was such an ease between them. The kind that doesn’t need to be announced or performed. Throughout the day, they naturally found their way back to each other, small check-ins, quiet moments, making sure the other was okay, present, enjoying it all.

It was gentle, grounding, and genuinely beautiful to witness, a quiet kind of love that speaks for itself

If you’ve ever thought, ‘We’d love photos, but my kids are unhinged’,
Please know... you are not alone and I hear this ALL the time.
I also have unhinged kids!

You’re not raising still, silent angels who sit cross legged and smile just because they were asked to.
You’re raising children who demand snacks and bolt in the opposite direction the minute you say ‘get over here.’

That’s normal. That’s expected.
That’s literally what childhood looks like.

I don’t need them to sit still. I don’t need perfect behaviour.
I just need them to show up as they are…
And it’s MY job to meet them exactly where they are.

As a mum, sometimes I think about the family photos I didn’t get taken.

You know how it goes, you tell yourself, "I’ll do it tomorrow," once the chaos dies down a bit.
But tomorrow never really comes. Between all the things life and parenthood brings, it’s so easy to let these things slip.

And then I realise the next year that I never booked it. I skipped a year. I didn’t get the photos done.
And the regret of not capturing those moments when they were here feels almost inexcusable.

I feel like when I show up here it’s my job to remind you that you will never regret the photos you get done but you often regret the ones you don’t.

What kinds of things worry me about wedding photography?
Honestly, not an awful lot. Maybe that makes me not the right fit for you and that’s 100%.

If it rains it rains, whatever. I’d be delighted to go out and shoot in the rain but if you don’t want to, I get it.
If you’ve decided mid-way through the portrait session that you’re over it, that’s no big deal to me. I’ll always understand.

When it comes to wedding photography, I’m pretty easy going and capture things as the day unfolds. It’s not for me to come in and direct your every movement the entire day.
I don’t want to do that and I’m sure if you’ve already read this far, you don’t want to be pulled and hauled across the country on your wedding day.

It’s so important when you are choosing who to work with on your wedding day, that you choose people who share the same values and thoughts as you.

Sometimes that means shopping around quite a bit and I fully support that. It’ll be worth the time and energy when it comes to working with someone you trust on the biggest day of your life, who helps you feel calm and safe.
It is maybe even more important when a little while after your wedding (8ish weeks for me, also might be a deal breaker), you sit down to look at your final gallery and you immediately know that you made the right choice 🥂

Being invited back into someone’s home is the the most treasured experience as a photographer.

Sometimes I worry that a second or third newborn session might be a bit ‘samey’ as the one before, but although I arrive with a bit of a game plan, your older kids will never allow me to take boring, still photos when they want to show me their favourite toy, or their headstands on your bed.
Or, like Ezra who wanted to show me his exercises!

I photographed Ezra and Autumn when they were tiny babies, and now they both helped me to capture newborn photos of their gorgeous new sister, Pixie.

There really is nothing like being trusted not just once, but time and time again to document sacred and beautiful events in someone’s life

How I photograph your wedding day will be entirely different to how someone else will photograph your wedding day.
We all have different visions, viewpoints and parts of us that we incorporate into how we work.

I can honestly say that every photo I’ve ever included in a final gallery has been a photo that I have felt.
A moment during your day where something has happened, or someone has said something to make you laugh or cry, or both.
Or maybe it’s a second of calmness in the most intense day of your life.

Either way, what I can promise you mightn’t be an entire gallery of award winning photos, but I can guarantee you’ll feel a surge of all the emotions every time you look through your wedding album over the years to come
