Early start to the day in a lovely part of the world, on yet another commercial photography shoot, photographing high quality koi for Harrogate Koi Ltd, for their website, and social media.

These are the first two koi photographed straight from the camera. LOTS more to get through today !!!

South Causey Wedding Exhibition update -

What an incredible day today at South Causey Inn, for their fantastic wedding exhibition. It was lovely talking to SO many couples planning their wedding days.

I have to say that it was probably one of the busiest wedding fayres I have ever attended, which is some statement, with the amount I have exhibited at, over the years. I now have a full dairy of wedding consultations over the next few weeks.

It was also a pleasure working alongside several of the vendors that are on my recommended suppliers list, on my website. Alma and Andrea from Brides & Beauty, Ian from ATW Vintage & Classic Wedding Cars, and Ian from Rings By Design.

WOW !!!! WHAT AN END TO THE YEAR...

What an end to a hectic year !!! All the hard work, long hours, and hardly any days off, were well worth this amazing haul of awards !!

I have known for a couple of weeks about a few of these awards, but until they had gone to press in a couple of magazines, and newspapers, I've had to keep things low-key, until now.

I am DELIGHTED to announce the following awards I have won, for weddings, portrait, and commercial photography. Just waiting for my trophies to arrive now !!! Attached to this post are just a few of the award winning images.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

We would like to wish all our past, present, and future clients a very Merry Christmas, and our very best wishes for 2023 !!! A VERY big thank you, to all of you.

In what can be only described as an extremely hectic year, having to photograph an insane amount of weddings, (not only having to photograph the weddings booked in for this year, but also still having to photograph an awful lot of weddings moved due to Covid, from 2021, and 2020), we are looking forward to getting back to a "normal", but still busy year, next year !!!

Some weeks this year, I have personally had to photograph up to four weddings in one week, and with that, goes an incredible amount of editing too, hence the reason why I can count on one hand the number of actual days off I've had from photographing, or editing, in several months !!!!!

On top of this, I have seen a MASSIVE upturn in commercial photography jobs booked in that I've had to shoot this year, which is also very nice to see.

Next year sees another busy year for weddings, and a couple of nice weddings already booked for destinations outside the UK, which I personally really enjoy.

I also promise, (now that the wedding season finally finished earlier this week), to start posting regularly on Facebook and Instagram again, as a LOT of people have requested this. Please look out for my next post, as I have some FABULOUS news to announce !!!

Finally, enjoy the festive period with your loved ones !!! This really is a VERY SPECIAL time of year.

Well there’s a first in over 34 years of wedding photography, and between 1200-1300 weddings I’ve covered in that time, I attended my first ever wedding rehearsal !!!!

Not only is it a delight to be able to photograph the wedding in such an epic venue as Durham Cathedral (although this will be my third wedding here) , but it is an absolute privilege to be the chosen photographer for the VIP’s wedding that will be here very soon !!!!

I would just like to wish all my amazing, past, current, and future clients/customers a very Happy New Year !!!

Hopefully, 2022 will be a year when things can return back to as normal as possible for ALL of us !!! In the last two years, it's been very contrasting times in wedding photography (and photography in general), not just for my lovely wedding couples, but also for ALL wedding photographers.

As if weddings weren't stressful enough for couples getting married, but in 2020, and for the majority of 2021 some of my lovely couples had to move wedding dates up to 5 times, because of ever changing Covid regulations !!! This in turn had a major knock-on effect to mine (and every other photographer's) businesses.

In 2020 I personally only photographed 3 weddings from all of the MANY weddings I had booked in, the rest moving to 2021, when I already had a full diary booked !!! This meant that last year I basically had to shoot 2 years worth of weddings, 2 years worth of editing, 2 years worth of album designs, trying to fit in couples new wedding dates, etc, etc and everything that goes along with that, in ONE year !!! Normally I book a maximum of 4-6 weddings per month, last year with weddings moving/rescheduling, some weeks I shot 3-4 in one week !! Thank the Lord, I managed to get through ALL of this without catching Covid !!!

This in turn has only allowed me to have no more days off in the last 7 months, than you could count on one hand (some days working 14-16 hours or more)!!! Not good, but as they say, the show must go on !!! Thankfully 99% of my lovely clients have understood that this isn't a normal year, and delivery times weren't normal either, with the massive extra workload.

On a personal note this year, it was very nice to win 2021/22 (Northeast/Yorkshire) Wedding Photographer of the Year (Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards), and also 2021/22 Wedding photographer of the Year for Northeast England (Uk Enterprise Awards)

FINALLY... BIG changes and a HUGE freshen up, coming VERY soon to Michael Hope Photography, from a brand new logo being unveiled, new letterheads, new business cards, MASSIVELY updated website, new album range, along with much, much more...

Hoping that this year this filled with all the good things you all deserve, health, wealth, and much happiness (and most certainly the back of Covid)!!!!!

SIX AWARDS FOR SIX IMAGES ENTERED !!!

I am delighted to announce that I not only won the titles of Northeast Classical Wedding Photographer of the Year, but also Northeast Fashion & Fine Art Photographer of the Year, together with 4 further Merit awards !!!

What makes it even more fabulous was the fact that I only entered six images to the prestigious awards ceremony, and won an award with every image !! This again keeps up my proud record of winning awards every year I've had my own business (10 years). A record I intend on keeping going as long as I can.

The ceremony was held last week for the Master Photographers Northeast region. It was the first time ever that due to prior arrangements I couldn't actually make the awards ceremony. The images were judged by Steve Walton (FMPA, FBIPP, FRSA), a highly acclaimed photographer who covers work in not only the UK, but the EU also.

Along with winning entries in the Classical wedding category, and Fashion & Fine Art categories, I also won awards in the Creative Wedding Photography category, and the Lifestyle & Location category. There are a few images attached to the post that I won awrds with.
