Wow! Where to begin! I had such a wonderful day on Wednesday at Screen and Film School’s L5 Screening, where we got to see A Well-Bread Woman on the big screen for the first time. It was received so well and I couldn’t be prouder. To top it all off though, we found out that it achieved full selection into Brighton Rocks International Film Festival, winning runner-up for the Stand Out Award!
This film was very personal to me, exploring an array of themes, particularly as a woman of colour in film and TV. To have gained this recognition so early on in my career is more than a dream come true and it wouldn’t have been possible without the immensely talented cast and crew involved in this production. From day one, everyone put their all into this project and it shows!
Of course I have to thank the absolutely wonderful for her stellar role as Bella. We both felt very connected to this story and I couldn’t have asked for a better leading lady. You really brought the film home girl!
Thank you to the Film School for their support, BRIFF for considering and selecting our film and to everyone who was at the screening and their kind words about the film.
This is only the beginning for a lot of us and I feel so lucky to have had my film screened alongside some really special projects, made by some really special people!
Onwards and upwards from here… I would love to see as many of you as possible at the festival screening on Sunday 30th June at Duke’s at Komedia! Thank you again to everyone I love you all ❤️
