Who remembers the old Beeston Reclamation Yard?

It was the go-to spot in Cheshire for sandstone and reclaimed finds for decades. Today, the landscape looks a little different! We took the drone up to capture the yard as it stands today and the evolving surrounding area - a beautiful new housing community.

Had a quick flyover of a new housing development in Cheshire this week and thought we’d share a few shots 📸

It’s always interesting seeing these sites from above - you get a completely different perspective on the layout, spacing and how everything fits together. From ground level it’s one thing, but from the air you can really see the full picture.

We’ve recently wrapped up a detailed drone survey over in the village of Malpas, capturing the latest stage of works on site. For us, progress flights aren’t just about getting a nice aerial shot - they’re about giving the team clear, usable information.

Eyes in the sky, keeping the crowd safe.

These shots are from the "Crowds Arena" sector. The mission here wasn't just photography - it was active crowd control review for the security team.

All imagery was captured from over 100 metres away. By using the right optics, we can spot pinch points, monitor flow, and support teams on the ground without ever flying directly above the audience.

We’ve just wrapped up a detailed roof inspection, helping our client spot missing tiles and areas of vegetation build-up that needed attention. Using 4K video orbits alongside 2D and 3D nadir mapping, we turned over 300 images into a clear, easy-to-use model.

The result? A proper view of what’s going on up there, so informed decisions can be made without ladders or guesswork.

Tech-Focused & Behind-the-Scenes...

From raw .DNG files to a fully immersive 3D world. Here’s a peek at the workflow from a recent flight over the Lakeside Stage. We teamed up with security on the ground to capture the entire arena area.

The goal? A complete post-event review package. I processed these images into a detailed orthomosaic map and a Gaussian Splat. If you haven't seen Splats in action yet, they allow for an incredibly realistic 3D walk-through of the site - perfect for organisers to review their setup and safety measures after the crowds have gone home.

Data-driven event planning is the future!

One from the archives. This was a smaller job for a local housing developer who usually works on larger, multi-home sites - but this time it was a one-off bungalow on a compact plot of land.

They needed an aerial view of the site before the build began, so it could be used in a small brochure and combined with CGI to show potential buyers what the finished home would look like in its setting. From above, you really get a sense of how neatly the plot sits among the surrounding gardens and properties.

Because the site was local, it was a quick turnaround. We fitted the flight in between jobs and had the images sent over the same day, ready for the CGI team to drop their render in and produce the final visuals the following day.

Sometimes it’s the smaller projects that come together the quickest.
