Rural Snapshots

Rural Snapshots The countryside is my passion and always will be. It is through this love of the countryside I found photography. It is a challenge.

I was brought up amongst the hills, coasts and woodlands of the the North West and have loved exploring and learning about the countryside ever since. A way of trying to capture the rural moments that I love to show others. But there is nothing so good as a challenge.

Have just become the owner of 2 film cameras with kit. I am very excited to start playing around with them as have always loved the type of images film cameras could achieve especially in relation to black and white. I hope to have images to share with you all when I get the hang of the new cameras.

Have arrived back from a weeks holiday after my final exams and have to say that although far off places are full of beautiful sights and wildlife nothing compares to home. Had a lovely walk today and feeling very lucky to live in such a beautiful location. Good news that with university having finished I will be able to concentrate on photography more.

Thank you to all the clients who came on Wednesday to have their dogs photographed. Was a great day and my first time photographing other peoples dogs. All photographs are in the post now but here are a few sneaky peaks at some of the results. Thank you to Clever Fox Canine Training and Security for organising the day.

Sometimes a break from revising Strategic Environmental Assessments is needed. Decided to return to Aqualate Mere to have a walk to see the absolutely stunning display of bluebells. I have never seen so many in one place before. Sadly they are all starting to go over so if you want to see them I advise you get there soon!

I think in the stress of the election a lot of people have failed to remember VE day 70 years ago. When people had truly witnessed the worst of humanity for 6 long years. Soldiers would return having viewed some of the most horrendous conditions that none of their family or friends would understand. Other soldiers simply would never return and would be buried or lost in the soils of a foreign country. I would implore everyone to take a few moments to remember 70 years ago today despite your feelings over the election. Because although VE day was a day for celebration it was also a time of mourning and confusement. How would people move on from 6 years of stress, hard times and tension? How would soliders ever return to the society they left? Lives had been changed forever. We need to take time to think about how lucky we are right now. No matter your political inclination surely we need to all come together as our ancestors did this day 70 years ago. To remember the fallen. And to remember those who survived.

This bank holiday weekend I have been busying myself visiting the Falconry Fair at Newport, exploring Haughmond Abbey in Shrewsbury and also visiting Eyton Races. Had a great weekend and I hope all of you have had the same.
Was wondering if any of you had taken snaps of your long weekends that you would like to share. Just add onto this post or comment on the page to share your weekends pictures.

Finally back home from university for Easter after spending the past two weeks working on dissertation. It is nice to be back in the North of England. Have had some good news involving the prospect of a few doggie photo shoots in summer as well. Fingers crossed it all works out as will be exciting to photograph other peoples dog companions for a change. But here is a photo of one of our handsome pack for now. Hope you all had a good Easter last weekend.
