Leftovers 🍂 When I design I always try and reuse and repurpose flowers and foliage where I can especially if it’s for photography. (of course it’s different if you are delivering to a client) This urn is full of Autumn colour, foliage and stems repurposed from my floral photography retreat and dahlias from the garden.

A bowl full of September roses from the garden. A curved rose hip branch from the hedgerow was the starting point for this one. A mingle of my favourite Autumn colours 🍂 I photographed this against the new black background to make the colours really pop.

No plan, but starting with a rose hip branch is inspiration enough. I love Autumn colour the most and I want to create something to embrace all the beautiful amber tones using the last flush of garden roses.

If you want your flowers to pop try using a dark backdrop in your floral photography. I painted this piece of plywood with some left over paint samples and it’s perfect for all the Autumn tones 🍂 I think I’m going to be using it a lot going in to the cooler months

A terracotta colour palette 🧡 this vessel is water tight and I’ve popped a pin frog in there with a ball of chicken wire too. A lot of people ask me if I use floral foam, but the answer is no. It’s just not necessary for how I design.

Sometimes inspiration starts with a vase and this vintage vessel is perfect for a garden inspired design filled with dahlias, sweet peas and dancing cosmos 🍃 happy weekend everyone
