Some bright noctilucent clouds last night, visible from around 2230 BST to the north, extending overhead and to the southwest. This is the brightest display I’ve seen this summer, although I haven't been looking all that hard, and don’t tend to stay up that late, now I’m not doing shifts. The nights are starting to draw in again, so shouldn’t be that long before auroras become visible once again over northern Scotland. Looking forward to next month's solar eclipse, which will be followed by the annual display of the Perseid meteors.
