A lovely micro Jellyfish, Nematode & Bristleworm a few diferent species of Nauplis & adult Cope - pods, early Echinoderm larvae Squat Lobster Zoea, Sea Flea, Larvacean and a small amount of Phytoplankton mainly Diatoms plus a few Dinoflagelattes in the trawl today

Mr Megalops Crab I think the first this season as you see its grown claws & legs but it still has a little bit left of its tail and if you turn a crab upside down the little triangle is the remnants of the tail and it helps the shedding of the old shell when it moults other plankton in the trawl were Jellyfish Larvaceans Cope-pods, Crab & Lobster Zoeas, Starfish & Sea Urchin Pluteous stages, Nectophores, Flatworm & Sea Snail

All about the birds today White Tailed Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Buzzard, Storm Petrel, Arctic & Great Skua, Puffins Guillemots, Terns, Gannets, Manx Shearwaters and large gulls on the Sea Life Surveys Wildlife Adventure with James Marshall & Sally Best sadly the only cetaceans we had were Harbour Porpoise

Amazing animals in the Plankton

So many tiny animals and plants in the sea in yesterdays trawl including a Shovelhead worm, a Starfish, Cladocera, a few Cope-pods and a good amount of Phytoplankton

Very little Zooplankton at the moment

This Planktonis so fascinating I spend that much time looking at it I forget the time and sometimes I dont have the time to put up a post the trawl mostly contains diatoms & Dinoflagelattes but with Tinnitids, Rotalaria, Rotifers & Starfish larvae
