Sit back as Adam catches up with Jake and Josh after an unforgettable World Championship weekend, talking through the highs, the setbacks and everything it took to get there. Behind every race was a family giving absolutely everything. From day one, mechanical gremlins hit all three hovercraft, leaving Rob and Marie working flat out behind the scenes. Long days became longer nights, but giving up was never on the cards. Jake’s first season in Formula1 has been exceptional, racing against the very best in the world with maturity and determination. Even in the final race, finishing on just two cylinders, he dug deep and secured an incredible second place overall in the F1 World Championship. For Josh, it was a different kind of fight. Racing in both Formula 2 and Formula S, he took heavy knocks, dealt with damaged machinery and endless mechanical problems. When he realized his own championship hopes had slipped away, he made the selfless decision to step back on the final day and help focus the team’s efforts on keeping Jake in the title fight. Results only tell part of the story. What stood out most was a family refusing to be beaten. Mario Kohl, Germany’s own Formula2 charger, came out swinging on race one of day two. He launched off the line, grabbed the early lead, lost it just before the water, but he fought back hard. Right now, he’s sitting joint third, tied with two Swedish pilots, a father and son duo, with only eight points covering the top five. Everything’s still up for grabs. Yesterday, though, he didn’t finish the last race due to engine trouble. That sting is real, but the fight is very much alive. Metzner Recycling MMRHP

Random checks, real results. This morning at the World Hovercraft Championships at Whittlebury, Germany’s Mario Kohl is the 2026 Champion and currently sitting joint third in F2 here at the world championships. He was one of several pilots called up for a random breathalyzer during driver’s briefing. Result, a clean zero. It’s a routine part of race weekend here, drivers mingle, camp, and celebrate together off track, so organizers run random alcohol checks to keep the racing and the paddock safe for everyone. Grid vibes with Adam Polfrey. Right as the two-minute board goes up. Team Phoenix have pulled together three crafts for the Worlds. One in Colts, two in Juniors. Proper last-minute hustle.
