🎶 LOCAL & LIVE | TUNBRIDGE WELLS 🎶

What a fantastic few days of music, creativity and community at Local & Live in Calverley Grounds! ❤️
If you’ve never been, this 360° video gives you a little taste of the atmosphere.
Look around … the stages, the crowds, the music, the buzz and that unmistakable feeling of my home town coming together to celebrate its incredible local talent.
From its earliest days on the Pantiles bandstand, Local & Live has become a much-loved fixture in the Tunbridge Wells calendar and iit’s about so much more than one festival.
Now a charity, Local & Live is dedicated to supporting, encouraging and nurturing grassroots music and culture, giving local artists a platform and helping people discover new music and, perhaps, even their own voice within our creative community.
Thousands of people come along each year to support the artists, and I think that’s one of the things that makes this festival so special. It really does belong to all of us. 🎵

🎨 Ah - the irony… ☔️

After months and months of desperately wanting rain, … did it really have to arrive today?! 😂☔️

Today was supposed to be the first day of Art on the Common, and after months of preparation, the rain has unfortunately stopped play today.

So many of us local artists and makers have been preparing for this event for months, and some of us probably started getting ready for it almost as soon as last year’s event finished!

BUT… the good news! ❤️

The forecast for Sunday and Monday is looking much better, so the event WILL be going ahead as normal on both days.

There are so many wonderfully talented local artists, with original paintings, photography, crafts, cards, plants, gifts and lots more. And of course, the fabulous Southborough & District Lions Club do such an amazing job organising the whole thing, including their legendary homemade cakes and refreshments, and of course raising money for this wonderful charity. ☕️🍰

I'll be there with my hot-off-the-press 2027 Tunbridge Wells calendars, new packs of local greetings cards and a selection of prints, and I'm really looking forward to finally getting set up and seeing you there.

So, if you were planning to come today, don't despair!

Southborough and District Lions Club

Sometimes you just need to press pause… 💙
After an intense few weeks of work whilst also preparing my 2027 calendar I decided that this week I needed to step away from the computer, put the camera down for a few hours and head to one of my very favourite places… the river in Tonbridge. 🌿💦
And what a beautiful afternoon it was.
Warm sunshine, but not too hot, barely a breath of wind and the river looking absolutely stunning. Just the sort of afternoon that reminds you how lucky we are to have these beautiful places right on our doorstep.
A paddle board each … although Mr Mott had rather more company than I did! 😂 He took Peggy AND Dolly along for the ride and yes, we've even managed to find a teeny tiny life jacket for Dolly! 🐾😂

A few hours of paddling, fresh air, exercise, sunshine and simply being outside was exactly what I needed. Sometimes taking a little time out isn't being unproductive at all - it's what gives you the energy to go back to work feeling refreshed and inspired.

The photographer in me couldn't resist capturing a little bit of it… beautiful light, reflections, water, the dogs and a few precious moments of doing absolutely nothing very much at all. 📷💙

After a very busy few weeks, this was my little reset button.

🎨 Art on the Common - one of my favourite local events! 🎨

If you’re looking for something lovely to do over the August Bank Holiday weekend, pop along to Southborough Common for the wonderful Art on the Common & Craft Fair.
I take part in this event every year, and honestly, it’s such a lovely one. ❤️

It’s a real celebration of local creativity, with an extraordinary array of original artwork and handmade things, all created by local people.
There really is something for everyone from tiny framed pieces to enormous 6ft canvases, with original oils, watercolours, pastels, acrylics, photography and so many other styles.
There are plants, gifts, cards, crafts and plenty more to browse.

I’ve bought some wonderful original artworks from artists at this event over the years, and I have several hanging in my home that I absolutely love looking at every day. 🥰

And then there’s the legendary Lions’ Club homemade cakes! 🍰☕️

So you don’t need to be looking for a painting or planning to spend a fortune, you can simply come along to the Common, grab a coffee and a slice of cake, have a wander around, meet some local artists and enjoy a browse.

I’ll be there too! 📸

I’m incredibly excited to be launching my HOT OFF THE PRESS 2027 Tunbridge Wells Calendar at the event, along with new packs of greetings cards featuring local scenes and a selection of my prints.

✨ New Client, New Airbnb Listing, 17-Hour Turnaround! ✨

One of the things I value most in business is receiving recommendations from happy clients, so I was delighted when a valued repeat Airbnb host recently referred a new client to me.
This particular property in Maidstone needed professional photography quickly to get the listing live and attracting bookings. I arrived on site at 4pm on Friday, photographed the property, still managed to fit in my usual evening game of pickleball, and my client had a fully edited gallery delivered by 9am on Saturday morning! 📸⚡
What surprised me most was discovering that this was my client's very first Airbnb venture. The attention to detail, quality of the furnishings, and thoughtful presentation throughout the property were exceptional. Honestly, it looked every bit as polished as a listing from a seasoned Airbnb professional.
It's always a pleasure photographing properties where real care and thought have gone into creating a welcoming guest experience, and this one was no exception.
Wishing my client every success with the launch of his new Airbnb, and I look forward to working with him again in the future.
