I am loving experimenting with different tools as part of an abstract landscape course with . Today I am mark making with fishing rope and allium stalks on sketchbooks , rice paper and brown paper. The floor is now covered so I will have to leave everything to dry. I am thinking about water, waves and the dunes. A big thanks to for the allium stalks.

What a lot of fun we had at my first Coastal themed abstract landscape and book making workshop. Seaweed, rope and shell ‘brushes’. Ink and lots of different papers. I was so impressed with the enthusiasm and mark making by participants.

Next week sees the commencement of my next six week photobook course run online as a friendly and supportive group. I highly recommend it as a means to turn your photos into personal stories and a tangible record of your own passions and favourite subject matter.

The January challenge was on the theme of WILD. Some beautiful books emerged, most with nature as a focus, including the devastating wild fires in LA. These are my favourites, all very different!

I am grateful to the organisers of this challenge who encourage and support creativity without any judgement and with much kindness.
