Day One with Kelly and Devan, at Charterhouse

The most beautiful start to a weekend of celebrations, working alongside the most talented team. Along with their families and young son, Kelly and Devan travelled from States for their multi-day wedding, designed and executed to perfection by .

These guys were everything you could ask for in a couple: warm, generous and incredibly fun. Kelly and Devan, thank you so much for having us. Can we do it all over again?!

A special thanks to for joining the team for this one!

Finishing touches are being added to our first gallery of the year and I feel like we’re off to one hell of a start: the kindest couple, a stellar team, one of our favourite local venues and to top it all off, some beautiful spring weather.

Leaning into the ‘imperfect’ nature of some of these film shots as, to me, it’s what makes them so special.

It’s taken me a few days to come down from the high of last weekend’s celebrations on the Isle of Bute and I honestly think I’ll still be processing the entire experience for some time; Flora, Max and their loved ones were an absolute joy. Their warmth infectious filled the entire weekend with so much energy.

We first visited Bute as a family a few years ago and fell in love with the island, so it felt serendipitous to return now, this time with the opportunity to fully immerse myself in its beauty and rich history.

To witness such an outpouring of love, in a place so cherished by their family, was an honour. One that will stay with me for a long time.

We’ve been revisiting some of our older galleries these last few weeks, as we inevitably do each year in the quiet in-between time. Each season, we soak up inspiration from so many different sources around us but actually, there’s really something to be said for sometimes looking inwards, reflecting on past works, strengths, pain points, moments that spark joy. It always amazes me how tastes and viewpoints change over time; whenever I look through an old gallery my perspective of it shifts, I’m looking at it through a slightly more removed lens (no longer though the tunnel vision of gallery delivery) and new favourites emerge.

And on that note, here are a few current favourites - some enduring, others newly discovered - from Java and James’ truly special day at Sezincote, two summers ago.
