Most tripods have a tiny bubble level on the head. Most people never look at it.

Floors aren’t flat. Carpets slope. Gym floors have drainage angles. Your tripod looks level until you watch the video back and the bookshelf behind you is at a 3 degree tilt.

Before you press record, check the bubble. If it’s off, adjust the legs first — not the head. Adjusting the head fixes the look temporarily but throws off every pan and tilt after.

Two seconds before each shoot. Massive difference in how polished the final video feels.

I film about 4 hours a month. That’s my whole content calendar and the planning is what makes it possible.

Here’s the actual back end (messy tabs and all).

Most coaches film reactively. Camera comes out when inspiration hits, everything’s shot from one angle, and by week three they’ve run dry.

I do the opposite. Before I pick up a camera:
→ I theme the month. Every week has one job — reach, nurture, or sell.
→ Every post is mapped to a format and a channel before it’s filmed. Reel, carousel, BTS, story, email. Nothing gets made without knowing where it’s going.
→ Every slot has a CTA and an offer attached, so the content always has a job — not just “be consistent.”
→ Then I batch by location. Everything I can film at the gym gets filmed in one gym session. Office content in another. Home in another.

That’s how 4 hours of filming becomes 30+ pieces of content.

The planning is the work. The filming is the easy bit.

If you’ve ever stood in the gym not knowing what to film — that’s exactly what my Gym Filming Playbook fixes. It’s the shot list and filming system I run on every session.

Picture Perfect is 15 this year 🎂🥳

I’m marking it the only way that makes sense to me — a 15-Year Founder Rate. Across EVERY single service.

Monthly Content retainers, Group fitness shoots, Reels editing where you shoot and we edit. Product and SKU photography. Coaching and strategy days.

The Biggest saving is on the content retainers.

For new clients starting July or August. That’s the door you need to walk through if you want to finally get your content sorted and it only last for a Two-month window. Then it shuts.

Comment FOUNDER for first look before anyone else sees it.

Lesson 3 from 15 years behind the camera.📸

➡️Niching down loses you contracts. Do it anyway.😅

I used to shoot anything that paid me.

Weddings. Newborns. Portraits. Corporate. You name it, I photographed it.

The week I said fitness and wellness only & I lost multiple enquiries immediately. Work I would have taken six months earlier, gone.

It felt like the wrong decision for about six months.

Then my retainer rate doubled. The clients started fitting me. I started enjoying the work again 🥳🥰

Here is what that means for you as a coach or brand.

The coaches I work with who try to speak to everyone, beginners, intermediates, weight loss, muscle gain, mindset, nutrition get hourly PT rates and one-off enquiries.

The ones who pick a lane, hold it, and build content that speaks directly to one person get retainer clients, referrals, and people who find them through exactly the right piece of content at exactly the right moment.

Generalists get paid hourly. Specialists get paid retainers.

The dip when you niche is real. The other side of it is a completely different business.

This is one of the quickest fixes you can make and it instantly lifts the look of your content.

When you stand right up against a wall and there’s a light in front of you, you get a hard dark shadow behind your head. It looks amateur. It pulls focus from your face. And it’s almost always why content “doesn’t feel professional” even when everything else is right.

The fix: step forward. Two to three feet of space between you and the wall. The shadow softens or disappears entirely.

If you can’t move forward, move the light. Off to the side, slightly above eye level, never directly in front.

This one change makes phone-filmed content look intentional instead of accidental.

I’ve been running content retainers since 2018. Chris Mason has been on one for seven years. Sophie grew from 3 to nearly 40 online clients on hers.

The Content Builder Program is the formal version of what I’ve been doing for years, with proper tiers, proper community, and a structure that works whether you need a half-day shoot once a quarter or a full content engine running monthly.

It opens on 4th June. The founder rate is for the first 5 people who join in when those spots are gone, the rate goes back up.

If you’ve been on the fence about retainers, this is the moment.

Gareth came to me knowing exactly what he wanted to say.
He just had no idea how to get it on camera.

Not digital savvy. His words. No editing software. No confidence with the technical side. But a clear message, a genuine story, and clients who needed to find him online.

That is actually the ideal starting point. The message is already there. We just needed to build the system around it.
The thing Gareth talks about in this reel — planning — is the part most coaches skip. They book a shoot day and turn up hoping inspiration arrives with them. It doesn’t.

Every filming session I do with Gareth starts with a plan. What are we capturing today, what does each piece of content need to do, and how do we make sure four hours of filming gives him enough to last the next quarter.

His words: “if you don’t get the planning right, you can fail to get your message across”.

Fifteen years behind the camera and I still haven’t found a better way to put it than that.

If you know what you want to say but have no idea how to get it on camera — DM me SHOOT and let’s sort the rest 👊

The last time we had a heatwave like this I was in London shooting for

Sweating through a full commercial shoot day in a gym with no air conditioning. Worth every minute.

The brief was to show the equipment the way it actually gets used — not styled, not static, not on a white background. In situ. Real environment. Real movement. The kind of content that makes someone watching it think “I want that in my space.”

That is the difference between a product shoot and a lifestyle shoot. One documents what something looks like. The other shows what it feels like to use it.

Fittle’s equipment is premium. It needed content that communicated that without saying it. The setting does the work. The movement does the work. The lighting does the work.

Not sure if throwback not Thursday is a thing but I’m bringing it back 😂

If you have premium kit that deserves content to match — DM me SHOOT and we will get your Q3 plan together 🪄
