The Dapper Dog Spa and Pawtography The Dapper Dog is a salon located in Wragby. We are completely dog focussed and have the dogs’ welfare central to everything we do.

Our groomer is City and Guilds trained and also holds a current canine first aid certificate.

Maddie. Elderly. Opinionated. Slightly grumpy. And always absolutely filthy. 😂

But that’s no problem for The Dapper Dog!

Maddie came in for her traditional Schnauzer trim, and after a good bath using Peanut & Pickle Dazzle & Shine Bright White shampoo, we brought that lovely white coat back to life. ✨

A proper Schnauzer trim takes more than just running the clippers over a dog — it’s about knowing the breed, understanding the coat and creating the right shape while working at the dog’s pace.

And when your client is an elderly lady with very definite opinions about being groomed, patience is just as important as technique. ❤️

I love working with dogs of all ages, coats, breeds and personalities — including the ones who arrive looking like they’ve spent the morning rolling in something questionable! 😂

Meet Lux ❤️🐾

Lux is a Romanian rescue whose DNA test revealed lots of shepherd breeds… with one rather unexpected addition:

Chihuahua! 😂

She came to The Dapper Dog today for a clip and brush-out, and she was an absolute star.

A fair bit of coat to work through, but I think you’ll agree she scrubbed up rather beautifully. 🥰

I do love seeing the transformation — especially when it’s a rescue who’s already had quite a journey.

Meet Lola… otherwise known as The Muck Magnet. 😂

Lola has a special talent.

She can find a muddy puddle from approximately 400 yards away.
And naturally, she believes that sitting in it is the correct response. 🤦‍♀️😂

She hates the bath, can be just a little bit belligerent when she disagrees with my plans… but once she’s clean, she becomes the sweetest girl.

She loves her belly rubs, gives the best kisses and, when she’s really comfortable, she’ll quite happily fall asleep on my grooming table…

…and snores. 😂❤️

She’s one of those dogs who makes me laugh every time she comes through the door.

I absolutely adore this grubby little muck magnet. 🥰🐾

Sometimes grooming is about so much more than making a dog look beautiful. ❤️🐾

Sasha is a very nervous Romanian rescue, and trusting people hasn’t always come easily to her.

Her mum sent me this lovely message after her deshed:

That’s what I love about grooming. Every dog is different, and sometimes the most important part of the groom isn’t the finished coat — it’s helping a dog feel safe, understood and comfortable.
