As a fairly new mummy myself, I appreciate how quickly those first precious days fly past in a whirlwind of visitors, feeding and cuddles. My aim is to help you capture that overwhelming feeling of love and awe you have for your new arrival, so you can look back and remember the newness for years to come. Based in our oxfordshire studio, come and relax whilst we capture some lasting memories of your little munchkin.

Are you waiting to book your newborn session when your baby is here?

That's ok, but actually the majority of our newborn sessions get booked after the first scan.

We schedule your booking based on your due date, and then finalise the date of your shoot once baby is here, whether that is 3 weeks early or two weeks late.

Doing this guarantees you a spot in my diary.

Newborn sessions are best done in the first 1 - 3 weeks after baby arrives.

If you’re expecting a little bundle in the next few months, then this is perfect timing for you.

For any maternity sessions, booked in June, July or August, you can book for just £159 and receive 5 digital images (2 more than usual).

Not only that. You’ll also get your newborn session fee free of charge (worth £59) and a further £25 off any image package for your newborn shoot.

Shoots can be done in studio, outside, with partner or without. Whatever takes your fancy.

Best done between 28 and 34 weeks.

Although I have an irrational fear of balloons (I often have balloon garlands in my spare room for weeks just going down on their own as I’m not brave enough to pop them), I absolutely love a cake smash.

One of the best parts is seeing so many customers that came in for a newborn shoot, bringing their beautiful bubbas back so I can see how much they’ve grown up.

I’ll be honest. They don’t always go to plan. Some babies don’t like getting messy (we do it for them) some aren’t keen on cake (we hide their fave snack in the cake) and some we just catch on a grumpy day.

However, these are memories we’re capturing. Not perfection.

It’s such a brilliant way to have lasting keepsakes of that first special birthday. Grumpy or not!

They can also include parent images if you wish so you all get to join in the fun!

Yes of course, get some professional pictures done in the first few weeks, but those precious first few hours are for just you and your family. Hours that you will never get back but will become some of the most important to you as the years go by.

As I celebrate my beautiful girl's birthday tomorrow, I am reminded of the day she arrived, how special it was, how overwhelmed with love I was, and how dazed I was from everything that had just happened.

It's easy to let the hubbub of midwives and checks get in the way of capturing those tiny details that will live in your heart forever.

Save this post as a reminder that when your precious baby arrives, please take time to take some pictures of these amazing moments.

And if you are a dad or dad-to-be reading this. Take pictures of mum. The one from the door, of her cuddling the baby, will become one of her most treasured possessions, and I promise she'll love you a little bit more for it.

Before we start - I have her permission to share this.

My lovely client. She spent weeks convincing herself that she needed to lose weight, feel different, get hair done, get nails done, be ready.

I’d like to say this is a one off. But it’s not. It’s something I hear a lot. Almost every week. Us women, we do everything for everyone, and we put ourselves aside for our kids.

We are so hard on ourselves, especially postnatally, when our bodies feel a bit unfamiliar and confidence has gone out the window.

But the one thing that never fails, is no matter what you look like to you, you don’t look like that to everyone else. And certainly not your child or baby. All they see is mum. And love. And that’s all I see too.

Those early days go faster than you can imagine. Everyone will tell you. And then you realise they are right.

Honestly, one of the things I love most about what I do is helping families feel at ease when they walk through the door, because most people have absolutely no idea what to expect with a newborn session and what it involves.

So here’s the few things that people ask all the time. It’s warm, it’s slow, it’s entirely led by your baby, and there’s zero pressure on you.

I’ve been doing this for ten years and the times I’ve heard, ‘I was really worried, but we actually really enjoyed that’.

A few from this little princesses newborn mini session. Such a lovely family.

I love these mini sessions. They’re an hour long (although I always chat way longer than that). Include 5 digital images and can still include parent images. They tend to be less posed than my full sessions, as we don’t wait for bubs to go to sleep!
