I was at shooting for as part of the festivalās official social media team, making my way around site doing my usual duties, when someone stopped next to me, handed me a little piece of paper and carried on walking.
That was .
The note he gave me happened to say exactly what I needed to hear at that point in time, so I chased him down to find out what he was doing. We had a quick chat, went our separate ways, then somehow crossed paths again later.
It turned out Richard had been invited along by to do exactly that: spread a little positivity around Boomtown.
When we crossed paths again, I stopped him and asked if heād let me film a few words about what he was doing, so I could share a little of that positivity too.
What you donāt see in the video is that afterwards Richard handed me a few more notes and told me to pass them on. Iāve already given some away, and Iāve still got a couple with me that Iāll hand to people when the moment feels right.
I think Iāll keep that going.
The world can feel like a pretty crazy place sometimes, and you really donāt know what someone else is carrying. A tiny message from a stranger might seem insignificant, but at the right moment it can mean far more than youād expect.
So this is really just a shout-out to Richard for being an awesome human and spreading a little love, and to Tribe of Frog for bringing him along to do it.
Not forgetting a big shout-out to too, because being out there shooting for the team puts me in the middle of moments like this that Iād probably never come across otherwise.
For me, this is a big part of what Boomtown is about. Itās not just a festival. Itās a community full of strange, beautiful little interactions like this, and moments like these are what make the place so special.
