One of the biggest questions couples ask when planning their wedding is:

“Do we need both a photographer and a videographer?”

Rather than giving my own opinion, I sat down with Hannah from Hannah Brooke Photography to have an honest conversation about the similarities, differences and how the two actually work together on a wedding day.

In Vol 02 of Frames Of A Wedding we cover topics such as:
• Photo vs video
• Common misconceptions
• Why each captures something unique
• Working together throughout the day
• The portrait session
• Trends vs timeless styles
• Pricing
• Red and green flags when choosing suppliers

Whether you decide to have photography, videography or both, my hope is that this gives you a better understanding of what each brings to your wedding day and helps you choose the suppliers that are right for you.

If you’re currently planning your wedding, I’d love to hear your thoughts after watching.

“Your wedding day goes by faster than you think.”

In the final frame of my conversation with Georgia & Maisie, they share the advice they’d give to any couple planning their wedding.

One of the questions I see asked regularly in wedding groups is:

“Is a wedding videographer worth it?”

Rather than answer that question myself, I thought it would be far more valuable to hear from a real couple.

I recently sat down with Georgia & Maisie, whose Christmas wedding in York I had the pleasure of filming, to talk openly about their experience of having a wedding video.

We discuss:
• How they chose their videographer
• What it felt like being filmed
• Whether being camera shy was a concern
• Photo vs video
• The most emotional moments from their film
• Hearing their vows and speeches back
• Whether they feel it was worth the investment

The conversation is part of a new long-form series I’m creating called Frames Of A Wedding, designed to give couples a genuine behind-the-scenes insight into wedding days and the wedding industry through the perspectives of real couples and wedding professionals.

Whether you’re planning your wedding now, undecided about videography, or simply curious about what it’s actually like having your day filmed, I hope you’ll find something useful in the conversation.

I’d love to hear your thoughts too:

For those already married, what part of your wedding day do you wish you could relive?

And for those currently planning, what’s your biggest question about wedding videography?

The Space Between Words

Sometimes you are able to capture the emotion happening around you, sometimes you need to bring it to the party….

I have learned that when we rush to fill the silence, the emotion can stay hidden. When we just pause and let the moment breathe, it usually floods out. Something I want to share with all my fellow photographers and videographers starting their journey in this emotion driven world we work in.

When you give people space…
they stop performing
and start feeling.

That’s the moment I’m waiting for.

Thank you .mrssp8 for being so open with me and letting it flow ❤️ love ya
