📸 **Photo of the Week**

Sometimes the best photographs aren't planned.

This image was taken on Saturday evening at the **Dorset County Hospital Resident Doctors' Ball** at the beautiful **Minterne Magna**.

As the celebrations drew to a close and the sparklers came out, I spotted this wonderful moment—a genuine smile, sparkling light and a real sense of joy. For me, it perfectly captures what event photography is all about: documenting people enjoying themselves and preserving moments that can never be recreated.

I love how the sparkler light frames the image, adding energy and atmosphere, while the expression says everything about the mood of the evening.

One of the things I enjoy most about photographing events is looking for these fleeting moments. They often last only a second, but they become the photographs people remember.

Thank you to everyone involved in what was a fantastic evening at one of Dorset's most beautiful venues.

Another busy week ahead, but first, it's time to dive into editing some fantastic events from the weekend!
💍 A surprise proposal in Wi******er
🥂 The Dorset County Hospital Resident Doctors' Ball at the beautiful Minterne Magna
🎭 And David & Zoe's wonderful wedding at the iconic Weymouth Pavilion
I'm looking forward to reliving all those special moments as I work through the photographs and start delivering memories to my clients.
🎂 It's also a rather significant week for me personally, as I celebrate a big birthday! I'm not entirely sure where the years have gone, but I'm grateful that photography still allows me to spend my days doing something I genuinely love.
🚗 Then on Saturday, we're heading over to Exeter to meet some customers and take on a very special assignment nearby. Unfortunately, this one has to remain firmly under wraps for now... 🤫
Exeter is always a fantastic city to visit, with its historic streets, independent shops and beautiful riverside walks. If time allows, I'm hoping to squeeze in a little street photography around the Quayside and along the River Exe before heading home.

⛪📸 **One Day, Two Special Celebrations**

Some family occasions are simply too important to celebrate separately.

Back in 2018, **Jenny & James** chose to combine their wedding day with the Christening of their youngest son at **Holy Trinity Church, Weymouth**. It made for a truly memorable day, filled with love, family, laughter and some wonderfully emotional moments.

This photograph captures one of those moments during the Christening service – a reminder that the most meaningful images are often the natural, unscripted ones.

📸 Picture of the Week
Sometimes photography isn't about dramatic action or spectacular sunsets—it's about a quiet moment that makes you stop and think.
Last Thursday, while walking along Weymouth Beach, I spotted this lone figure sitting peacefully by the shoreline, gazing out towards the ship on the horizon. The scene had a wonderful sense of scale and solitude, with the vast sea stretching out between them and the world beyond.
What drew me to the image was the feeling it creates. It leaves the viewer wondering: What are they thinking about? Where have they come from? What lies ahead?
Photography has a wonderful way of telling stories without saying a single word, and for me, that's what this image is all about.

📸 The Week Ahead
Another busy and exciting week ahead here at Paul Brewer Photography!
🎵 Friday – I'll be live on Whatnot as Mr B Record Finder, hunting down vinyl treasures, sharing great music, and hopefully finding a few hidden gems along the way.
💍 Saturday – Wedding time! I'll be joining Ben & Zoe at the iconic Weymouth Pavilion to capture their special day. To celebrate, here's a throwback to Jenny & James' wedding at Weymouth Pavilion back in 2018, one of my favourite images from this unique Dorset venue.
🥂 Saturday Evening – It's then straight over to the stunning Minterne Magna for the Dorset County Hospital Resident Doctors' Ball, where I'll be documenting what promises to be a fantastic evening in one of Dorset's most beautiful settings.
It's going to be a busy one, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Meet Meg 🐑🐕
Captured at the Dorchester Victorian Street Fair 2026, Meg was taking a well-earned break while keeping a watchful eye on everything going on around her.
What caught my attention wasn't just her character, but the contrast between the hardworking sheepdog and the rustic surroundings of the fair. Sometimes the best photographs aren't the planned shots – they're the moments you stumble across while exploring with a camera in hand.
I love finding these little stories within an event and preserving them for people to enjoy long after the day has ended.
