Bitchfield Tower is one of my favourite gardens, and such a stunning property too. With a pele tower built in the 15thC, it's been added to over generations. In the 1930s it was a ruin, but has been stunningly renovated and the current owners have created a fantastic and magical garden! Open once a year via the National Garden Scheme North East-Durham Northumberland Teesside Tyne Wear it really is worth seeing... And nice to bump into the friendliest dog ever, Bobbie - thanks for posing!!

Lovely to spend an evening actually making something from scratch, although I’ve muted the original Audio as you can hear me saying “I’ve measured it all wrong” and “I just don’t understand” 😂😂 however once we got into the swing of it it was super easy and was quite relaxing. Thanks to Joy (one of the other attendees) who brought along a bit of a drink and some chocolate mini logs 🥳 and of course to our course leader Mark from who is just son lovely and welcoming and so very patient!!

I definitely recommend you try this workshop if you’re near Whitley Bay, being run out of on Whitley Road. Everything except the plants and pots are provided, so it was great to get something to take home with me!

I have grown up with Scottish dancing. My Dad’s Gr-grandpa was from Glasgow - his surname was Dunning, which is a village in Perthshire, not that close to Glasgow, but hey, we always adopted it as "our village". Grandpa John moved down to Liverpool around 1870 when probably lots of Glaswegians were moving to Liverpool to find work on the docks as life in Glasgow then was probably one of the worst in the country. He settled in Everton, just up from the docks, hence my family always being blue scousers...

My dad did Scottish highland dancing all through my childhood, and we often went to cèilidh, but more with dances like Dashing White Sargent and Strip the Willow - lots involving dances that you turn your partner and flirt with the 2nd, or make tea-pots, stars and figures of eight! So when I met Laura fro Whistler school of Highland dance and learned about her dance school in Tynemouth, I sort of wish I was dancing again!

These dancers at the Cullercoats Festival did so well, as by the time I saw them it was getting a bit chilly! Music and costumes were brilliant. I especially liked the angry Fishlass dance at the end, who was angry with her husband for something or other!

Good job everyone!

A really massive THANK YOU has to go out this week to all the incredible local busineses we have in Cullercoats who either sponsored or fed & watered the 5000ish people who visited the village on Cullercoats Festival day - honestly, it was fantastic!

Thanks again to all those involved, as it was all voluntary and a great lot of effort had gone into the day by everyone who was involved. I've got quite a few photos I'd like to share, so will do over the next few days.

Fantastic to see Ray Laidlaw opening the festival - go check out Lindisfarne - The Band if you don't know Ray you will all know Fog on the Tyne!! 🎶

Great to see our local councillors Jane and Willie helping out Paula, Jane and Willie’s Cullercoats and Whitley Bay News - and we now know that Jane quite likes Lindisfarne - The Band 😂

Of course the obligatory cocktail from the The Smugglers at the Queens Head, Cullercoats was enjoyed - thank you to the team there. My tongue is no longer BLUE.

Music in the Cullercoats Crescent Club - and massive thanks to Jamie and his team who were phenomenal.

Art creations by the CommunitARTY art groups - led by Susanne Moore, Laily Thompson and Elizabeth Dutschak - and all the masks as well! We did to the mask trail earlier in the week, which was lots of fun!

And to the runners who I skillfully missed crashing into all day - thank you!

More images and thank yous to follow.....

This is going to be such an useful and insightful workshop, so I'm delighted to be working with Helen, owner of H Social - who is one of the best social media companies in our region, and an absolute pleasure to work with, along with Zoe Campbell who is a fab photographer and loves her job as much as I do.

If you’ve ever sat down to create content and found yourself staring at a blank screen wondering what on earth to post, you’re definitely not alone.

That’s exactly why we’ve created Summer Content Sorted.

This practical workshop is designed to help local business owners and marketers plan, create and organise their content for the months ahead. You’ll leave with fresh ideas, a clearer strategy and content you can actually use, rather than a notebook full of good intentions.

Whether you’re struggling to stay consistent, running out of ideas or simply want to make social media feel less overwhelming, this session will help you get ahead and feel more confident about your marketing.

Bring your laptop, bring your questions and come prepared to get productive alongside other local businesses.

If getting your content sorted before summer passes you by sounds like a good idea, we’d love to see you there.

Book your place via Eventbrite: tickets are £59 and include coffee/tea, croissants and fruit on arrival, plus pizza and a non alcoholic drink for lunch. There’s an EARLYBIRD discount of 20% (so £47.20) until the end of June.

All ma ladies finished and uploaded! Honestly it’s been such a pleasure to edit these incredible women today - Eleanor just starting out in life, and Karen and Lisa both incredible entrepreneurs and successful women in business! Photographed in the country, in a coffee shop and in the studio. 📸🫶

Love my job!

Message me if you need headshots, I do more than just take a photo. I help you with posing and try and make you feel as at ease as possible. Honestly no one really likes having their photo taken, but I do try and make it as enjoyable as possible! 📸😊

Have spent the day catching up on edits, as I've fallen a little behind after working on the Community festival at the weekend. So today i've worked with Eleanor, Lisa and Karen, and have spent most of the time editing hair!!! It does have to be right though...it's my attention to detail, not the client asking me.... everything has to be just right. Photos to follow....

Lovely to see all the incredible creatives from Cullercoats Creatives at the Festival at the weekend... x
