A great day at the Intercontinental Hotel London Digital Print Awards.
Nominated and short listed 'Reflections in Colour' came runner up out of three thousand printers and the book has only been in print for a few months.
Wonderful news for all our storytellers who wrote such amazing words to the pictures.
Thank you to our hosts New Perspective Printers and HP.
Benson Book Binding, Dan Dickey and Gareth Matthieuse for all the efforts in the production of the book.
Both the coffee table book and the Fine Art book are selling well and raising funds for MDUK via the website: crispandsharp.co.uk

MICHAEL MCGRATH REFLECTS ON THE HOLLY HILL TREE
Michael founded The Muscle Help Foundation (MHF), a national charity delivering transformational experiences in the UK, called Muscle Dreams, for children and young people (aged 8-28) with muscular dystrophy and allied neuromuscular conditions.

Striking, purposeful and resilient.
And after all these years, still turning heads, still stirring imaginations, still drawing strength from mother earth.
Shaped by the elements, by the storms of life.
And yet still stable thanks to roots that nurture daily.

Much time has passed, years, many years.
And despite today’s challenging landscape, those roots are being fed like never before.
Holly Hill Tree, you are like many whose muscles are weary.
And yet, spirits are not dampened, we remain vigorous, we remain connected.

Despite the adversities of weather, we remain upright.
We see you Holly Hill Tree, despite appearances, we’re alive, we’re strong, we’re resolute.
You may look withered, you may look sad, you may look alone,
But we know there’s a beating heart that cares, that’s compassionate, that’s listening.

Whilst roots must often deal with rocks, with obstacles, with different adversities,
They more often than not break through the hardships before us, reaching upwards.
Like you Holly Hill Tree, we look to what’s possible today, to what we can control, not what we can’t.
We’re not locked down, we’re not helpless, we’re not alone.

And when the storm hit, we stood strong, we stood together, we looked up.
When we support each other, when our lives are intertwined, when we care, we will always be stronger together.
Oh Holly Hill Tree, we know its ok to not be ok, we know it’s ok to ask for help.
Look up, we see hope glinting through dark clouds, the suns warmth emerging.

Thank you Holly Hill Tree for being you, for reaching out, for casting your shadow.
We only know what we know, we only see what we see, we only feel what we feel.
You will always be striking, you will always be filled with purpose, stay hardy Holly Hill Tree.
We see your hope, your dignity, your humility, we see you Holly Hill Tree.

End.

In difficult times like the present those of us blessed with good health need to be reminded how lucky we are and how the less fortunate cope with the disadvantages they are forced to endure. This book shines a brilliant light on the thoughts, emotions and aspirations of those with a particular challenge and does it in a beautifully creative and inspirational way. It should be read by everyone.

Location All Saints Church, Graveney, Seasalter marshes a lovely spot.
Out to test a Beast! Fuji GX680 medium format – and nine frames to a roll. Press the shutter button and it sounds as if its going to take off. Looking foward to seeing the results!.
Most important a good laugh and a very good lunch to end the day.

Milton-Keynesia an online magazine has written a very good article about one of our Story tellers Kerry Thompson. Kerry wrote about ‘The Deal Flowers ‘in our book ‘Reflections In Colour’ and what the picture reflects about her life with a muscle wasting condition.
Kerry’s is one of over fifty stories in the book.
Thank you Milton-Keynesia for supporting us in your excellent magazine

A great day with my good friend Peter.
Peter had purchased an Intrepid Mk 5 camera and decided we should do a test shoot.....
Up early, a few shots and lunch in other words a day out playing!!
All went well we thought …....unfortunately in our excitement we forgot to c**k the shutter and to our shame did not take the slide out on several of the shots. Result......not good but we live to rescue our embarrassment another day.
