The biggest concern about a newborn sessions that I hear from parents is 'What if my baby doesn't sleep?'

It's absolutely not a problem. All sessions are baby led so your baby's comfort and happiness is my top priority.

We capture your baby as they are.

That means:
🤍 Cuddles with mum and dad
🤍 Tiny stretches and yawns
🤍 Feeding breaks
🤍 Snuggles
🤍 Those little expressions you'll forget far too quickly

The session moves at your baby's pace.
If they need feeding, we feed.
If they need cuddles, we cuddle.
If they stay awake, we photograph that too.

The result is a gallery that feels genuine, relaxed and full of memories rather than poses.

Because one day, it's these little moments you'll miss the most.

Lifestyle newborn photography might be perfect for you if...

✨ You love natural photographs.
✨ You want to be in the pictures too.
✨ You don’t love heavily styled props.
✨ You want your photos to feel timeless.
✨ You’re worried about your baby being unsettled.
✨ You want an experience that feels relaxed.

My sessions aren’t about creating a version of your baby. They’re about documenting this fleeting chapter exactly as it is.

The way they fit in your arms.

The way your partner looks at them.

The way your family feels in those first precious weeks.

Because newborn photography is about remembering the beginning of your family story.

If you're expecting a baby, you may have started looking at newborn photography and thought:

"They're all basically all the same, right?"

Actually, there are different approaches.

Traditional posed newborn photography focuses on carefully positioning your baby, often using props, wraps, baskets and styled setups.

Lifestyle newborn photography takes a different approach. Rather than creating poses, it focuses on capturing your baby naturally, in your arms, with their family, and all the tiny details that make them uniquely yours.

Neither is better than the other. It's simply about choosing the experience and photographs that feel right for your family.

Over the next few posts, I'll explain exactly what happens during a lifestyle newborn session and why so many parents are choosing this approach.

✨ Save this if you're currently expecting.

I absolutely adore sitter sessions, for babies 6-11 moths. Hands down one of the best ages to capture your little one.

No one warns you how quickly they stop being “new."

Not in a dramatic way. But one day their legs stretch out, they stay awake longer, they don’t curl into you the same way. And you realise you’ve already moved on from that stage.

That’s the bit I care about capturing.

Not overly posed. Not forced. Just your baby, exactly as they are right now...tiny details, soft expressions, the way they naturally settle.

Most of my clients book in advance (usually after their 20-week scan),
to ensure they get a slot within the newborn timeframe.

If you’ve been meaning to sort photos but haven’t got round to it yet,
this is your sign.

Send me a message and I’ll talk you through it.

I photographed Cameron as a newborn, back in the day when I had a tiny studio in my basement, 10 years ago.

This felt like a moment we had all waited for. 🤎

This is the newborn stage. Still sleepy. Still curly. Still exactly how you imagined them before they arrived. It changes quickly after this.

I photograph babies in those first few weeks while everything is still soft and new.

If you're thinking about a family photoshoot this year, now is the time to book.

Autumn sessions were particularly popular last year and spaces for these are always quite limited because of the short window of time in which they work best.

We don't need to book in a date at time of booking but securing the type of shoot you want now will mean that you have a place held.

If you'd like to find out more information or have a chat, please get in touch.

A whole year of photographing Enya.

One of the greatest joys of my job is to see little ones grow and change over the course of a year. Being able to bottle that for parents is such a privilege.

Thank you Georgia, for choosing me.
