So after a few computer issues (I really need a new one) here's the remaining shots from Rutland. Was made up to photograph my first Muntjac Deer and Marbled White Butterflies, which a kind lady in a hide put me onto. Plenty of wildlife around Rutland Water area, which was good to see. First tranche of Osprey shots from Rutland last week. Brilliant experience and I'm glad some of the shots came out ok. All dive shots were taken in low light, the last being just after 5.30am. We were lucky enough to land a fishing Red Kite as well, which I'd heard was a possibility, although the Kites generally take dead fish from the surface rather than diving into the water.

Glad to catch a young Kestrel before it fledged and then returned about 10 days later to find a couple still at the site...

Glad to catch a young Kestrel before it fledged and then returned about 10 days later to find a couple still at the site and being fed by a parent. Landed my first half decent images of a Cetti's Warbler over at Martin Mere too which I was pleased with as they're regulars heard but almost never seen, usually staying hidden in the reedbed.

My best from the past few weeks. Bickershaw was pretty productive and gave me my first Grasshopper Warbler and Small Copper Butterfly photographs. Sadly the light was too far gone to do much with the Cuckoo shots. Other shots were at White Coppice and Steart Marshes in Somerset.

So after a cold night camping in the Lake District (I'lI take a thicker sleeping Bag next time) I was up and out early and managed to land some more Redstarts and Pied Flycatchers along with my first Cuckoo of the year (although half a mile way) and my first Tree Pipits in Britain. 😀

Landed my targets of Redstart and Pied Flycatcher at White Coppice on Monday but no sign of Cuckoo. Nice to see the Dipper couple too. Bad light was hampering the photography but it was still a good morning.

Had a great morning at Pennington Flash last week. Saw all 8 Black Necked Grebes and then had a Little Ringed Plover posing right in front of Horrocks hide, never had one so close before. Other shots were from Lunt Meadows and Martin Mere.
