My best from the past few weeks. Bickershaw was pretty productive and gave me my first Grasshopper Warbler and Small Copper Butterfly photographs. Sadly the light was too far gone to do much with the Cuckoo shots. Other shots were at White Coppice and Steart Marshes in Somerset.

Garden Fox project part 3. Thought I'd have a go at reflection shots last night, thankfully he turned up at the right spot eventually after spotting me twice through the window and trotting away.

So after a cold night camping in the Lake District (I'lI take a thicker sleeping Bag next time) I was up and out early and managed to land some more Redstarts and Pied Flycatchers along with my first Cuckoo of the year (although half a mile way) and my first Tree Pipits in Britain. 😀

Landed my targets of Redstart and Pied Flycatcher at White Coppice on Monday but no sign of Cuckoo. Nice to see the Dipper couple too. Bad light was hampering the photography but it was still a good morning.

Had a great morning at Pennington Flash last week. Saw all 8 Black Necked Grebes and then had a Little Ringed Plover posing right in front of Horrocks hide, never had one so close before. Other shots were from Lunt Meadows and Martin Mere.

Finally gotten round to posting some holiday shots from our Canary Islands Cruise. My trusty travel camera, the Nikon P950, did the business again. New species for me included: Blue Chaffinch, Canary and Monk Parakeet. Good to get some lizards and frogs too.

Had some brilliant Hare encounters last week. Didn't capture any boxing but I did land a chase. A couple of them even came to within 5 or 6 metres away from us. Not sure why but it seems with it being mating season they have completely lot their fear of humans. Good to see plenty about too.

Went looking for Hares and Yellowhammers last week and had the unexpected bonus of a Little Owl, that I almost bumped into. Literally flushed it out from about 2 metres away having not noticed it. Thankfully it hung around for its picture 🙂
