Ian Hardman is an avid railway and aviation photographer with a passion for transport and engineering. Ian is a fireman at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester and has a deep-set interest in the history of rail and air travel across Britain. He is an engineer by trade and enjoys getting an insight into the workings of systems and mechanisms. Ian is also a budding author and his photogr

It has been an incredibly quiet few months for me. Full-time work has taken over so I very rarely get out to take many photos.

This is the most recent group of photos from various places and events. A Class 52322 at the East Lancashire Railway, Black Buck veteran XM607 at RAF Waddington and the RCAF C-130 and F-18 pair from Cobra Warrior.

Add to this Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of Halestorm in Manchester.

Grammy Award-winning and Legendary rockers Halestorm at the AO Arena in Manchester on Monday evening.

Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger brought their battle axes to the show in an attempt to lift the roof off!

I met the band before the gig, and they were lovely as always. As an avid fan of their music, for some reason I was very nervous before the meet and greet. Once the few minutes was over I was chilled out and ready for a brilliant gig.

They, like usual, put on a show for the ages complete with fire and confetti cannons!

I do wish I could take a camera to events like this, but until that point I shall make do with my phone. I'm quite proud of this one.

British Railways Standard Class 8P No. 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' chimes through Wigan this evening, heading back to base in Crewe.

This was the engine's first official tour in service since 2012 - excluding a members-only tour recently.

I have only ever seen 'The Duke' on the move once before tonight, that being when I had my first digital camera and had no real idea what I was doing.

This is going to be a standout performer in the coming years!

Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Class 23 No. 11456 in LMS colours leads a quartet of LMS locomotives at Ramsbottom Station on the East Lancashire Railway.

Behind in the consist are Fowler Class 3F No. 7138, Class 27 No. 12322 (masquerading as scrapped classmate 12345) and the sole-surviving Stanier Mogul No. 13268.

For me this was quite special as the LMS region is closest to home, having four engines on the same train was a brilliant addition, and I've not seen two of the four engines in the photograph previously.

British Railways Ivatt Class 2 No. 46441 in BR Maroon arrives into Bury Bolton Street Station earlier today during the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala.

It was nice to get a bit of atmosphere around the engine as this was the first time of seeing her in traffic and in full steam.

GWR Castle Class No. 7029 'Clun Castle' hauls this afternoon's Vintage Trains Shap Mountaineer past the Blea Moor signal box.

It was nice to see a Castle on the Moor, passing the semaphore signals while they still exist in certain places on the national rail network.
